Description: Open since 1995, the simple cooking and warm, friendly atmosphere has allowed The Mustard Seed to become one of Inverness’s favourite restaurants. The Location on the banks of the River Ness in a converted church building is simply stunning and helps create the wonderful ambience. The transformation from disused church to restaurant created a unique space; with a double-height ceiling and magnificent open log fire. Many of the original period features were retained and combined with a mix of natural and modern finishes. The addition of the terrace on the top floor allows alfresco dining and uninterrupted views of the River, another amazing asset for the restaurant.

“Still wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2014

It had been a few years since my last visit, but I was happy that they were still offering wonderful food in a lovely and lively atmosphere! The specials are always special and their early bird menu was a hit with our group. If you don't mind dining early I highly recommend it. This is always a "must stop" for me when I am anywhere close to Inverness. Cannot wait to return. Varied menu that will please anyone. Their house wines are quite nice to boot! I recommend the Plot 22 Tempranillo/Shiraz...great bargain as well.

“Great location down by the River Ness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2014

We took a chance without a reservation and were extremely lucky to get a table for two for lunch in this busy but extremely friendly Inverness Restaurant. Several subsequent on spec diners were turned away so it is recommended to book ahead. What immediately struck us was the general air of happiness and willingness to engage and serve shown by the competent and able staff. We told them that this added much to our enjoyment of the experience and it seems that many of the staff have been working at the restaurant for many years. This aspect added to the excellent menu, speedy service and reasonable price made this restaurant experience one that we would like to repeat at a later date. The food was also very good indeed. Top marks.

“Exceptional food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2014

Loved the ambience of the restaurant - the menu was amazing, the service good and food was amazing. 3 courses for 4 people with drinks and a carafe of wine was £140. I was very happy to leave a good tip. I will definitely be back next visit.

“Excellent food in a cozy atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2014

i have never had a bad meal here. The prices are always good and the food is excellent. Staff are consistently friendly and helpful and the surroundings (wood burning stove) make for a very welcoming atmosphere.
