Description: Since it opened in 2002, Rocpool Restaurant ha become an effervescent Inverness brasserie with a loyal fan base. A cool contemporary decor with lots of bare wood and bold colours give a buzzy vibe to the restaurant which is situated in a prime site on the banks of the River Ness. The kitchen has a repotoire of eclectic modern dishes which use Scotland's matchless produce sprinkled with Mediterranean sunshine, plus a pinch of exotic spice here and there.

“Food Excellent but Service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

We visited for Lunch and the Food was excellent with absolutely no complaints. This is why we have graded it as very good.

We felt that the service could have been a bit better. There was a lack of communication with one member of Staff in particular. We asked for Tap water but received a bottle of sparkling water. I pointed this out and we then received a bottle of still water. We also ordered wine and our wine glasses were removed.(They were returned)

The location of the restaurant is not the best as you are looking across at a HMRC/Job Centre building which is not exactly aesthetically pleasing. There is not sufficient detraction to the interior. This restaurant is not cheap and the location and ambience is part of the overall package. Obviously if you visit in the evening then you may not notice this. This may sound picky but considering they offer one particular bottle of wine which is £3 more than Zizzi across the river then we do feel it is relevant.

“Anniversary meal with the missus ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

We went here after seeing the reviews on trip advisor and we weren't disappointed. The food was very nice, the service was very good and friendly. Several couples were turned away as they were fully booked and this was a Monday evening. 4 out of 5 as I've had better food but I would eat here again.

“The best in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

My wife and I booked the Rocpool restaurant for an anniversary meal after reading all the great reviews and were left absolutely delighted! Everything was absolutely perfect from the initial welcome at the door, the delicious smells emanating from the kitchen, the tasty food and fantastic service throughout the meal.

I simply do not have a bad word to say about this place other than I'm gutted I don't live in Inverness so that I could go more often :) I started with the hand dived scallops with mini chorizo sausages and followed it with the venison main course, while my wife had the crab & sweetcorn soup followed by the pan fried calves liver. All the flavours on every plate were superb and as I said above, the service was second to none. We were attended to when required and left alone to enjoy the meal and the atmosphere.

Can't wait to go back!

“GreatFood and Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

We went early evening and had a bargain top quality dinner. Lovely bread, delicious carrot soup with feta, meatballs with a tangy sauce and golden polenta for starters then tasty chicken and steak for mains....all beautifully garnished and presented. A good wine list and excellent service ticks all the boxes for a top rating. Book ahead as it is very popular!

“Fantastic meal for special occasion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014 via mobile

Very busy night but lovely welcome. You cannot come to Inverness without visiting this restaurant. Lovely choice of menu which changes regularly. Have to say it was better than last time we were there and it was good then. Staff are attentive without being intrusive and always very courteous. We just love going for meal here on special occasions.
