This must be one of the best bed & breakfast establishment I have stayed in.
All aspects of accommodation were of a high standard, excellent. Also John
and Elizabeth were welcoming and made you feel at home.

I arrived in Inverness is the pouring rain, and thankfully, the B&B was only a five minute walk away. John was very thorough in his introduction of the house, as I had the single room with the bathroom across the hall. Everything was comfy and clean. Breakfast was amazing! Continental offerings of fruit and pastries, and then a full scottish breakfast (haggis, blood pudding, etc). The first day I didn't need to eat lunch, I was still full. Sue, who manages the dining room at breakfast, keeps things lively with banter! For the last morning, I had to leave before breakfast, so Elizabeth packed a large take-away for me to eat on the train... again, no need for lunch. If I were to travel to Inverness again, this is where I would stay. John and Elizabeth run an amazing place.

Thanks to John and Elizabeth for a perfect place to stay in Inverness. Bed and Breakfast Inns come with an expectation that it will be a more friendly and personal place to stay. Some live up to it, some sadly fall short, and some set the bar high and go beyond your expectations. Ardconnel House is in that last group. Friendly people, clean and comfortable and attractive rooms, fabulous breakfasts, good location, helpful information about places to see in the area. Only thing wrong was that we only had one night to stay. We also loved their friend who served breakfast with a song and a smile.

Ardconnel House was fantastic; from the central location, to the welcoming owners, comfortable and well-appointed rooms, and the breakfast to die for.

My husband and I took a week long tour of Scotland, and Ardconnel House was our favorite B&B by far. John and Elizabeth were beyond gracious and gave us great insight into the area and its regional habits and best places to eat and visit. They were also both extremely accommodating, letting us check in late (after we managed to get dreadfully lost with no map). We were so delighted, we even decided to forego a leg of our trip (up to Skye) to stay on another day.

I must say, the decision to stay was in no small part due to the fan-freakin-tastic breakfast spread -- farm fresh eggs, the tastiest black pudding and haggis we had in Scotland (and we ate both everywhere we could possibly get them), great country bacon, fresh sausages, broiled tomatoes (which I quickly became obsessed with as well), and my new favorite jam - lemon shred. The breakfast overseer was a great treat as well, making sure everyone was properly fortified for a day of seeing the sights. She was a delight and I am quite glad I polished off my toast :)

The room was comfortable and well-appointed, with a great hot shower. All that was great - anyone can put up a great room - but the breakfast and the personable attention each guest receives is really where Ardconnel excels.

Room Tip: Any would be fine. The B&B is on a quiet street nestled on a hill, far enough away from the nigh...

I traveled through Scotland with my parents to celebrate their 54th anniversary and we had the absolute treat of staying at the Ardconnel House. John and Elizabeth were so welcoming and made us feel so at home. Our rooms were on the second floor along with a lovely lounge. Their home is warm and cozy and we loved the breakfast room. Elizabeth was kind enough to make reservations for dinner close enough that we were able to walk to it. Our only complaint is that we were only able to stay 1 night! We totally recommend it as THE place to stay in Inverness!

We were lucky enough to make a last-minute reservation at this B&B on a road trip through the Highlands and we were so thrilled with our stay there. The rooms are lovely, clean, and comfortable. John and Elizabeth (the owners) are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful. And the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and we would love to go back someday.

This is a wonderful little Bed and Breakfast conveniently located in Inverness close to the train and bus stations. The rooms have everything you need and the breakfast was amazing and filling. John and Elizabeth were delightful and extremely helpful and accommodating (when we needed to drop our luggage off hours before check-in).
