dear sir i was on holiday 11th to 16th november 2012 there were four of us on a short break we noticed while we were sitting having a meal that work men wearing dirty work clothes were being allowed to sit on seats in their filthy clothes then other customers had to use the seats apart from it being unhygenic would you like to sit and have a meal with people in muddy smelly clothes next to you also later on that night about 1100pm we noticed that a guy started to put down dust sheets over the floor and furniture and proceeded to decorate the place while customers were still drinking surely this shouldent have happened till after closing time talk about health and safety we were told the guy was married to the manageres so there you go so if you want to loose customers keep going like you are

Thanks for taking time to write a review about the King's Highway.

I'm sorry you felt that other customers' attire was not to your liking. I'm afraid that we do not operate a dress code, though perhaps the duty manager should have had a word if these customers clothes were especially messy.

As for your comments regarding our painter, there is no relevance of his martial status but work like this is generally carried out through the night and perhaps he was a bit too keen to get started-we close at 12 and he was probably in about 11pm to get ready to start. He has been made aware that he should not have started until all the customers had vacated that area of the pub.

Thanks again for your comments.

A short walk from the train and bus station .Room was fine for a short break .We stayed on a room only basis so didnt have breakfast . Good hospitality tray , plenty hot water and a very powerful shower . We would stay again as the location is great for getting about . The place could do with getting rid of the awful dark colours its decorated in .

Great location, rooms have all the essentials (tea, coffee, hairdryer and tv).Very comfortable beds, didn't want to get up!! great food and selection of drinks from the bar. There is also a lift if you happen to be on the top floor so no hauling luggage upstairs.Great value for money.

Stayed here on way home from Dingwall,My wife and myself thought it was fine and good value. The receptionist did say it is due a refurb soon and although I agree we both still enjoyed our short stay and would stay again if visiting Inverness..

We used this hotel during a Lands End to John O'Groats cycle ride. When we arrived the expected family room turned out to be a twin room. The manager couldn't have been more helpful and gave us a spacious family room, and let us keep the other room too at no extra charge!
The rooms themselves were quite large and well appointed. They were clean, the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels in the bathroom. There was an annoying hum noticeable in the room, possibly from a air conditioning unit for the pub below. I think the windows were single glazed so noise at night could be a problem, though it wasn't too bad when we stayed.
The corridors leading to the rooms were in the process of being decorated, so an upgrade of the decor was in process.
I felt it was a decent hotel for the price.

Booked three nights room only expecting this Wetherspoon hotel to reflect the quality of a Travelodge or Premier Inn. How wrong could I be. Wetherpoons have spent all their money on the adjacent pub which is very pleasant but the hotel is very run down in need of refurbishment.

Arrived in my room to find that the main light didn't work but hummed all night. Left for a journey to Wick and Thurso early next morning leaving a note about the problem. Back later that evening and the light still didn't work. Next day has to chase up the problem and was told that an electrician had been called. He or she never arrived in the 3 days I was there.

On the good side, the room and en-suite were very spacious and the shower was very powerful and refreshments were available in the room.

A good location next to the Wetherspoons pub and near the station and town centre but will look for somewhere else should I visit Inverness again.

I stayed here with my mother in one of the twin rooms. I wasnt sure what to expect from reading the reviews.
We found the staff courtious and the room was very spacious.
Yes the place could do with a spruce up and an air, but was very good nonetheless. The shower was very powerful and good. The curtains are also good quality blackout ones so we slept very well.
Breakfast in the morning was very good, very quick and very cheap.
Overall a pleasant stay with fantastic staff.
