“Useful child friendly prices in school holidays”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Chanced on The Auctioneers on arriving in Inverness by train and were pleased with the offer (currently Sun-Thurs during school holidays) of child meal for £1. Food was tasty and the chicken nuggets our son had were pleasantly different shapes, rather than just reformed identikit ones that would have been on offer at McDonalds. Visited twice during our stay and both times had nice food in calm surroundings (early evening first time, lunchtime 2nd visit). The £9.95 for two main meals offer helped keep the cost of our stay down. Nice to see the cook putting little touches like a sprinkling of paprika on my dish which made it even more appetising.

“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Food was good and reasonably priced. Seemed to be plenty tables and was quickly served, visited weekday lunchtime. Staff were pleasant and polite. Only negative toilets need updating, were very hot and shabby (not chic) !!

“You get what you pay for. Look elsewhere.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Inexpensive. Standard fried fare from food that was previously frozen. Requested steak to be medium but it was well done. We normally wouldn't have eaten at this place, but there was a golf tournament in town that weekend and it was impossible to find anywhere to eat!! Food wasn't that good. Beer was alright. Wine tasted a little stale. There was an old fried grease smell in the general restaurant. Plus slot machines and gaming stations made for a distracting mix. Old carpet hadn't been changed since the 80s.

“Cheap and reasonably cheerful (anytime except Friday and Saturday night's)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Better than your average pub menu, more choice and cheap. The menu appeals to most, steak, burgers, fish, lite bites, veggies etc etc. Self service ordering and table setting but it's inexpensive. Not exactly top quality ingredients but fast and very acceptable, you get what you pay for.Smiley formulaic service well trained and with lack of pressure on the Sunday evening I went quiet friendly.

Don't go Friday or Saturday no food because it reverts to type. Rowdy loud cheap joint folk hanging out the doors boys hanging out their cheap low slung jeans girls hanging out of their cloths on ridiculously high heeled platforms. Get the picture? Some like it that way. I don't.

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

Have eaten here many a time and food is consistently good. The staff are very friendly, food is tasty and reasonably priced and the atmosphere is great. What more could you ask for? I visited very recently with family and we all enjoyed our meals. One of those occasions where we were passing food around the table saying, "you have to try this!" Would highly recommend.
