We stayed at this hotel at the start of March. We were a little apprehensive at first as this was our first stay in Inverness and we were unsure about spending a Friday night in the heart of Inverness city, and panicked we might have a sleepless night! This hotel was perfect though and we got a peaceful, comfortable nights sleep.

The hotel did look slightly intimidating at first when we arrived and walked into reception, my boyfriend and i made a joke that we might get thrown out for simply wearing our jeans! But were happy later to realise we were dressed the same as the other guests.

The receptionist was not the most friendliest but checking in was very easy and we were given good directions to our room but were given the wrong time for breakfast, but luckily the correct times were in our room.

The room itself was basic but lovely and the bed was very comfy. The only issue we had with the room was we were unable to get the shower to work properly and only managed cold water from it, so both had a warm bath instead. We didn't report this to reception as in too much of a hurry, in the morning! We didn’t get a view of the river, and looked out to some flats on a side street, but for the cost we were very happy with this.

Breakfast was lovely, we had to wait awhile to be seated, but the staff were friendly and the tea was lovely :o) It was self service for breakfast and the food was very nice. If we were to stay at Inverness again, we would defiantly go here again as we got a brilliant deal of £60 for the night including breakfast :o)

We stayed in this hotel on a Christmas break. Location is great as it is a 2 minute walk into town. This was our first stay in this hotel as we stayed in the Ramada Jarvis last time (see Ramada comments).

The hotel room was smallish but adequate and we requested a room high up as they have two bars on the ground floor.
Noise was not a problem. Staff were friendly and we were able to leave our suitcases there after check out.

Breakfast wasn't the greatest but the hotel was £60 pn, which is cheap for Inverness centre!

Overall good value for money, if you want luxury it is not for you, but if you want a low cost hotel that is clean and in a good location this should be adquate.

Just back from a 2 day break at Columba, Room 302. Room huge, ensuite big too, definitely refurbished this hotel, more modern taste now. This room over looked the castle & river ness, couldn't have asked for a better view. Staff friendly. Restaurnat good, couldn't fault breakfast - so many choices. McNabs bar, well for all opart of hotel food not so good a standard, staff not really helpful except for one lass, entertainemnet in bar quite good. Ate at Cafe 1, which is a bistro restaurant, superb meal & good service reasonable prioced. The Room bar with live music (rock) good, then across the road to Hotenannys - amazing to see all young artistes get up & play. Shopping fair too. Lucky with the weather for all November.

  • Liked — Beautfiul room with chandiliers & comfort with style
  • Disliked — Mcnabs food experience

Just came back from a very enjoyable stay at the Columba, which is on the banks of the River Ness right in the centre of the city.
Booked 3 nights dinner, bed & breakfast through Easy Breaks for my husband & myself for £163 for the entire break! As it was so cheap I wondered what would be wrong. Nothing was wrong, the hotel was refurbished a couple of yrs ago & is very tastefully done. The rooms were great, the restuarant/dining area is lovely, the food was very good (for a 3 star hotel) & the staff very helpful. There is also a lovely bar in the hotel called McNabs where they have live music at weekends.

I can't think of a single bad thing to say about the hotel.
