“Business stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

Whether on business or leisure you will not be disappointed at the service and facilities at this hotel. A truly wonderful stay and I certainly will be back for more. Renovation underway - it can only get better! Our dinner was wonderful and the staff were attentive and helpful.

Have just returned from a short stay at the kingsmill hotel.
We would like to say what a lovely hotel even with the building work going on and the staff are a credit to the hotel.
The breakfasts are buffet style but the quality is very good, the room which we were in was very spacious with access to the garden which if you have a dog is brilliant and makes a change to be made so welcome with one.
Well done the kingsmill. Haste ye back.

Room Tip: Rooms over looking the garden with outdoor access

Excellent hotel in good location, accessible for town centre but peaceful with nice gardens. Lovely rooms, tasteful and very spacious with extra large beds. Very dog friendly and had dog bowl, dog biscuits ( lots) and poop bags provided. Parks across the road to walk dog as well. Breakfast of good quality.Pool quite small and can be a bit noisy, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna also Staff very friendly. Would definately return if in the area.

Went for a swim lunch with my sister. Lunch was nice and price was good, found the pool and changing facilities very grubby!!! .we told the member of staff at reception we were not very happy with the cleanliness and she explained to us they are trying to work though all the maintenance issues . I left it at that and went for our lunch as we were very hungry . There's no excuse for dirt, even if a place is old or needs redecorating , the place can always be cleaned to a high standard. What's up with the windows beside the pool all white and streaky ... Get ur cleaners in there and give it all a good scrub!!!!

Dear Guest

Thank you for writing a review on the Kingsmills Hotel.

I am delighted that, overall you enjoyed your swim lunch and found your lunch at a reasonable price.

I have now discussed and actioned your comments with the leisure club manager who will ensure that the cleanliness levels are maintained. Some of the issues you have mentioned have appeared to be about the cleanliness of the blown double glazing which will be replaced on our next leisure club refurbishment.

Haste ye back

This lovely hotel is undergoing major renovation. However, if you are a business traveller or on a coach trip, you'll be up and out of there before the contractors start. The rooms in the main house are lovely and big with traditional features. The public areas are comfortable and roomy, the spa is great and the food is excellent, especially the breakfast which which take all day to burn off!

Stayed a number of times now all single nights. Twice now I have been given rooms in the 6 to 11 series in the old hotel.

These rooms have a "wonderful" view of the hotel air conditioning plant, the same air conditioning plant that will keep you awake all night humming away.

The other rooms are fine, good condition and the food / service is great, just be careful which rooms you are offered.

Room Tip: Dont accept rooms 6 to 11 (which are on first floor)

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our hotel.

I am happy to read that you are a frequent guest and that you enjoy staying with us, and you find the staff and food to be excellent. Since the hotel was purchased by a private owner in 2007 there has been a lot of renovation. At the moment we are building a new conference centre which is to be completed early 2014, but there are plans for the future to renovate the other bedroom especially rooms 6 to 11 which are part of the old house.

I hope you will return to the Kingsmills later in the year

Kind Regards

My wife booked us in for a two night break over the Mayday weekend. We arrived on Saturday pm and were given a room overlooking the grounds (and the new extension building site). The builders were just packing up for the holiday weekend, or so we thought. Sunday was very peaceful but on mayday Monday the diggers started at 0730. The building site was in full swing by 0800 and there is no way we were sleeping through the noise. Very disappointed.
The room was nice and very well laid out with very comfortable bed. Maybe just starting to look a bit tired. Staff were great and the buffet breakfast was second to none, 10/10 for both mornings.
Just be aware that depending on your room allocation the lazy long lie in might not be an option while the construction is ongoing!!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for writing a review about the Kingsmills Hotel.

I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay, the choice of restaurants, quality of the breakfast and friendly associates.

We are currently building a new conference centre which is to be ready for early 2014. On Mayday the construction team needed to lay all the concrete and it unfortunately had to start early as it would take all day. I apologise sincerely that this disrupted your mayday holiday.

I hope you return to the Kingsmills in the near future.

Kind Regards
