Our stay for 2 nights was absolutely amazing!! On arrival we were greeted as if we were Royalty (King and Queen of Scotland). The building is so beautiful, lots of character and warmth. We could have stayed there forever.

The food was excellent, so delicious. If you are visiting Scotland, this is one place you must visit...words can't express, you need to see for yourself. Beautiful building, beautiful location and beautiful history...and wonderful staff.

We also met a lovely couple on their honeymoon, from Florida who were travelling throughout Scotland...was a pleasure to be amongst people who have a passion for scotland.

Will definately visit again :-)

“Scotland's Finest!!”

Culloden House

My husband I were looking for somewhere to spend a romantic autumn weekend and by discovering Culloden House we really struck gold!
The level of service was second to none - right from being met at the beautiful entrance by the manager who carried our bags inside, through to the smiling, helpful staff who couldn't do enough for us.
The attention to detail was incredibly impressive. When we arrived at our suite - a gorgeous antique filled room, complete with four-poster bed, they had lit an open fire in the private sitting room.
The management have succeeded in finding the perfect balance between hotel and country house. Despite the elegance and opulence of the house's decor, it never felt stuffy or over-formal, unlike other similar properties we have stayed in. We were given all the little extras that you would expect from a top class hotel - fluffy towelling robes, slippers and luxury toiletries.
After a windy walk on the beach and a drive around Loch Ness, we felt relaxed enough to curl up with our books by the huge log fire in the public sitting room where we enjoyed a warming pot of tea. The staff were so discrete that we felt completely at home. In the evening, we were thoroughly spoilt with a delicious dinner and whisky in the lounge.
I would recommend Culloden House both as a great base for exploring the beautiful Scottish Highlands or just for a romantic weekend, getting away from it all and switching off in a beautiful environment.
We will definitely be back!!!

“King & Queen for a day”

Spent one night at the Culloden House near Inverness.

We were welcomed at the door before being taken inside the impressive house. Every room was unique and individual, from the plaster in the lounge and dining room to the masculine whisky bar with it's leather sofas and great selection of whiskies, not that I sampled any.

It turns out that Tony Blair slept in "our" room and reception boasts two letters from the man himself.

Dinner was very good, as was our breakfast, no substitute for the real tea that they serve and the porrage was first rate.

On checking out our car was taken to the door, bags packed away and photo taken on the front steps, all the little extras that you dont get at a chain hotel, the staff made us feel like we were king and queen for a day.

My wife and I found the food and service outstanding at Culloden House. The setting and historical ambience were magnificent. The excellent Scottish staff went out of their way to help with any request. There many many nice touches. We would definitely like to return.

“Just like in the movies”

Culloden House

My husband and me were in our honeymoon. We were travelling by car around Scotland and chose this hotel for staying one night near Inverness. When you arrive, you feel like you are in the 19th Century. The big garden is breathtaking and you have to surround it to get to the building.
The staff was really friendly and polite and helped us a lot. Although we couldn't stay at a four-posted room (our travel agency didn't asked for it, though we had paid for it) and our room only had views to the parking, it was big, clean, nice and comfortable, full of details and decorated with typical scottish clothes.
The rest of the hotel is like a small palace. The sitting room is really nice and invites you to have a cup of tea and a long conversation.
We had dinner there and we must say that everything was perfect: the meals, the wine, the staff... The only problem was that we felt we didn't fit in, because everybody was dressing very smart clothes and in our suitcases there were only jeans, pullovers and khakis. In spite of that, we felt like we were in a James Ivory film.
