I have stayed at the Penta a lot this year and in general had little to complain about until my last 2 visits. The first was on 11/12/14.arrived at hotel at 21.55,as I was waiting to check in,the staff member asked if I wanted to order food,I said I have until 22.30 and I would like to unwind first,to which she said 22.00 was the time food finished but the chef would cook something if I ordered now.I declined and went elsewhere.
The next time was 13/12/14 arrived at hotel at 21.45,whilst checking in was told food is finished which I said it was meant to be 22.30 but she was adamant. so I had to order then.
My point is if you arrive at a hotel you do not want to arrive not knowing if you are going to get food or not, it is so ad hoc. What ever time last food orders is make it be known and STICK to it.

The title says it all to be honest. Great hotel right in the middle of Inverness and a stones throw away from the Rail and Bus station. A warm welcome in this modern and friendly hotel. The staff were fantastic and helpful.

Would I stay again if in Inverness.....DEFENETLY!!

Well-located close to the railway station, this hotel changed hands fairly recently and perhaps aims at a specific clientele. The rooms remain basically the same layout and style as with the previous owners and the beds provide a reasonable nights sleep. The room has all the standard requirements such as hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, TV and wifi (not tried, though, so can't comment) but the surroundings remains rather clinical. The inclusion of complementary toiletries is very welcome and an improvement on the previous dispensers. The room I stayed in was very quiet, which was also welcome.

Staff were very helpful and informative. The reception area and lounge, though, are quite different to previously. The reception area is now situated in the centre with the bar, which feels quite strange. It seems as if the downstairs area has been designed around a 'series of rooms', with a 'library' area (books and pool table - complementary), a 'disco' (complete with glitterballs) reception and bar, lounge areas with sofas and armchairs. Lighting is quite 'red' and somewhat dark. Breakfast was nicely presented, with a good selection but the lighting (the same as the evening) was very surreal..

Room Tip: Asked for a quiet room and that is what I was given.

We went to the penta hotel for some cocktails at the start of our night out. The staff were warm and friendly and even offered us some advice on the cocktail menu. We were seated on some comfy sofas beside the fire which was nice and cosy. We had a lovely time and I would definately go back for an evening and try the menu which looks very appealing.

Summed up in a word, it's adequate. The beds were... ok. The service was... ok. The food was expensive, but the location was good. The showers were ok. The TV was very good, having free movies (although not the most amazing selection), and was balanced by the wifi, which was very bad. It's a big hotel and didn't really take in any of the city's atmosphere. Even the price is in the middle ground, cheap for being in the city, but there are much cheaper places near the river.

I have stayed in the Pentahotel Inverness on a number of occasions and I find it be excellent accommodation at a reasonable price. I especially like the public areas - the reception and bar area and the staff are young and friendly. When I'm away from home, that's very important to me. The food - and the breakfast in particular - is very good. I'd like if porridge were added to the menu as this would induce me not to go for the excellent breakfast buffet that's available.
