“Good food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2011

It is a place with good food. It is a very good place if you can stay outside in the garden or by the side of Loch Ness. It canbe recommend to book a table the day before

“Lovely setting with good homely food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2011

Been hearing good reports about the Dores Inn for several years but this was our first visit. A Monday lunchtime which we thought would be quiet but almost every table was occupied.
Given a table in the small room at the end, which was fine if a little warm, was much cooler in the larger room and the bar.

Very good menu with some interesting options, and just to make it harder to decide there are several 'specials' on the blackboard.

Main courses only, will definitely return to sample starters and desserts.

Rolled Pork shoulder stuffed with black pudding and chorizo. Absolutely delicious, served with great gravy, mash, asparagus and brocolli. Hefty portion which left me stuffed.

Across the table - Shepherd-less Pie. Veggie twist on shepherds pie consisting of italian beans, other veg, cheese, topped with sweet potato mash, served with garlic bread. Again, lovely, and a large portion.

From memory other options were Haggis (Cockburns of Dingwall, which is simply the best), Salmon & Coley platter, Seafood Chowder, Various steaks including a Cote-de-beef and a T-Bone, Cumberland sausage swirl, Lamb cassoulet, Mussels, Chickpea and something curry, Haddock & chips, Chicken saltimboca.

Yum yum.

Plus a beer and a coke the bill was £26.

“Great Beer & Good Authentic Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2011

My son and I stepped in for a pint to warm up after swimming in Loch Ness. We ended up staying for two pints and dinner. The service was excellent and they had the fastest wifi connection we found in Britain, including Heathrow Airport.

“The Dores Inn busy but good service and food lovely. Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2011

Visited Dores inn at the weekend. The staff were so helpful and would make anything you wanted. The food was really good and would visit again if in the neighbourhood.
It is so popular that you may have to book a table, well worth it
