Owner description: Water doesn't get much more mysterious than this 23 mile stretch running through the Great Glen in the Highlands of Scotland. There's no better way to experience Loch Ness than by boat. Jacobite's award winning tours and cruises get you onto the water and into the heart of this iconic landscape. This is a whole lot more than simply sight-seeing. We've been running trips on and around Loch Ness for over 30 years and most of us live here.

“Great Cruise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

Highly recommended. The cruises run every hour and there are a few options to choose from. The dock is easy to find and the staff were great.
Its a great way to see the Loch if you are only staying for a short period of time. The prices are great too.

“A lovely trip out but a bit pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

This is the second time I've been on this boat trip and was pleasantly surprised to find we were on a more luxurious boat than a previous time and it was warm inside with big picture windows. The commentary was interesting without being too overbearing. We also went for a look around Urquhart castle and this made it more of a day out. However, at £19.50 each per ticket, this seemed a little steep. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars.

Dear Reviewer, thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We do understand you may have found our Freedom trip rather expensive, but this does include your entrance into the Castle.

“A history lover's dream”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

The Jacobite cruise was one of the highlights of our trip to the Highlands. We had this wonderful guide named Kenny who was incredibly knowledgeable about this history of the Highlands. He imparted the histories with a passion for the place and the stories. I recommend taking the largest tour package offered which includes: a ride on the Caladonian Canal and Loch Ness, a visit to Urquart Castle, a visit to the Loch Ness Museum, and a stop at a 4,000 year old Cairn. I am such a huge fan of all the people and the wonderful product that is offered by the Jacobite Cruises!

“Great outing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We had a wonderful day, though short at the castle (but that was the tour we picked, so we had to live with it). The bus was on time, the driver provided information about the area on the way out to the boat, including a very useful tip about the hot chocolate on the boat, and on the way back to Inverness. We learned history about the area and spent a beautiful day in a beautiful place. I would definitely use them again, but I would pick the tour that allows more time at Urquhart castle and plan to make a day of it.

“Dochgarroch Locks are interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

We were on a tour of the area and were visiting the locks in Dochgarroch where we watched the Jacobite Queen approach from Loch Ness to use the locks in order to continue on towards Inverness.

The process is very interesting as one gate is closed after the ship is secured within the locks and then the next gate is opened to flood the area and raise the ship to the level of the next section of the Caledonian Canal.

The immediate area around the locks is very quaint with small cottages.
