From the minute of arrival until departure - once again, the service was friendly and first class.
Having an elderly person with us and requesting a ground floor room the management took it a step further giving us all rooms around each other which was great.
With a car park at the rear and ample parking space, the hotel was readily accessible.
The bar staff (Tania and Andrew) couldn’t do enough for us and their humor and service ( and at times good humoured "tolerence") was much appreciated.
We also had dinner in the hotel later in the day and from the choice of a varied and reasonably priced menu the meal was cooked and served to perfection with ample portions.
It was clearly evident that the management continue to reinvest in the comfort of the rooms as they continued to further improve what was from our last visit a couple of years ago already a good standard.
The breakfast choice was extremely varied and was always replenished promptly. Likewise the table service was courteous and friendly, always with a smile and tea and coffee on tap.
Overall, another great experience with continued excellent value for money and service in a friendly family run hotel which wherever you went was always clean and tidy. You will not beat St. Clairs for service and cordiality. Well done - we'll be back.
Only one tip to watch and absolutely nothing to do with the excellent service from the hotel. Looking to get a taxi to take us about 2 miles away - the nearest taxi firm being Thurso (circa 6 miles away). The taxi service we contacted was less than helpful and indicated we would require to not only waiting circa 30 /45 minutes but we would also require paying an additional sur - charge for the taxi coming from Thurso (due to their Castletown driver being on holiday). A totally unacceptable approach in our view and certainly a "new experience" as we say in the West - chancin their arm with a surcharge !!!.
Did they get the hire - what do you think ( NO).
