“Wild wet November”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

We had enjoyed John O'Groats, stayed the night in Castletown Hotel, thought we would drive out to Dunnet Head. It was pretty windy, and a lovely atmosphere driving past the many different sized lochs. Just about managed to walk to the cliff view and the summit view without getting physically blown away. Not a very good view because of the weather, but a good experience. The skies this far north are wonderful to see - dark clouds with blue patches, and some excellent sunsets. What's it like in summer?

“Awesome.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

What a place to visit, it was blowing a hooligan, dark and stormy and very cold, even though the temperature was about 6 degrees, that wind chill made it feel a lot colder. This is a fantastic viewpoint with a lot of old building, now u used and it really made you wonder what went on there and when. If you have the time take sufficient clothing and food to spend the day just wandering round the open Lindt was beautiful.

“This is a must do.”

It's a thrill to see the top of the UK and the lighthouse. Well worth the drive and only a little walk.

“worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

For me, visiting Dunnet head is worth it for the narrow, winding road that takes you there across open country. Although the viewpoint itself is small, the little lighthouse adds interest, and there is a good view of the sea and the cliffs. I was pleased that I made the effort to visit again.
