“A good and quiet place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

Stayed for 2 nights. Room was good, breakfast was OK and the overall experience was positive. Free passes to the local spa/leisure center were a great bonus. I personally like to talk to people a lot and our hosts were a bit too formal for my personal liking. I would recommend staying at Ardlogie.

We stayed for one night only but it was as we expected, which is as it should be.
A positive comment is that the owners were unobtrusive. I have a bit of a thing about "hosts" who pester me with "where are you from?" or "why are you here?", and staying at Ardlogie Guest House we were pleasantly surprised that we were made to feel very welcome without a cross-examination.
The only negative comment is that we booked through Visit Scotland who slapped a £4 booking charge on to the published price, much to our surprise. Perhaps we should book direct next time?

Very warm welcome, lovely couple and a comfortable room. Would certainly recommend to others. Look forward to a return here next year. Breakfast was excellent and we were provided with exactly what we ordered. Richard and Elaine could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Having the spa passes available to guests was a bonus too. We enjoyed a swim and other facilities at the Aviemore resort too.

We stayed for just one night in Sep 2012, and were most impressed with Elaine's welcome. Very relaxed, and informative. Richard & Elaine are excellent hosts, and the breakfast was a very pleasant dining experience. I was offered smoked salmon, & scrambled eggs as I don't eat meat. My husband had a full breakfast, but declined the Black Pudding, at Elaine's query. This attention to detail, was very refreshing. Our room was at the back of the house, and very quiet. We will definitely stay again, and I would highly recommend the Ardlogie.

We stayed at the Ardlogie for five nights this September. the location is brilliant, nice and close to everything but away from any noise. The room was lovely, and the breakfasts were amazing - full cooked and smoked salmon were our breakfasts of choice, but the breakfast cranachan looked lovely too - I just didn't want to go without the cooked stuff haha.

We stayed here for 2 nights in the self-catering room which was nice and quiet. It is next to the road and I was concerned there might be traffic noise but there were hardly any cars on the road. Only complaint we had was the mattress was needing renewed as it sank down in the middle. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best we have had in a B & B and the owners very helpful and friendly. Booked it through laterooms for £30 each per night. Would definitely stay there again.

Thank you for your comments and we're really pleased you enjoyed your stay so much. Obviously we are concerned you weren't happy with the mattrass. The mattrass is indeed still quite new, but it maybe that it needs to be a firmer one on this base which is perhaps softer than a conventional divan or slatted bed . Thank you for pointing this out - we'll try and address this issue. Hope to see you again at Ardlogie. Kind regards, Richard & Elaine

I've just returned from my fourth stay with Richard & Elaine - it really does feel like staying with friends! I love the quiet position of the guest house which is well placed for all the amenities of the village and so convenient for transport links that I don't bother hiring a car. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast will set you up for the day. Local produce is used as much as possible and I enjoyed trying the hand made venison sausages from Nethybridge on this visit as well as the local strawberries (which you may have seen on their Face Book site). Altogether I would highly recommend a stay here
