A really great place to stay. The guesthouse is furnished in a pretty country style, very clean, very cosy. The breakfast is really delicious and a lot of the food is self made. If you stay in that area, the Old Minister's House is a must.

We stayed at the guest house at the end of May 2012 for 2 nights but wish it could have been longer! The entrance hall is really stunning and I knew straight away that the house was going to be special. The bedroom was very spacious with a lovely bathroom, all imacuately clean, Sheelagh, the owner only took over the property last year and has already refurbished the resident's lounge which was very comfortable and stylish and also the dining room. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice and Sheelagh's attention to detail shone through. From the dining room window we could see many birds on the feeders, including a lesser spotted woodpecker. The guest house is in a great location, right on the main road to Loch Morlich, but it is very quiet and peaceful inside. Sheelagh was very friendly and helpful and even offered to give us a lift in her car to the start of a nearby walk. The guest house is excellent value for money and we hope to return again in the not too distant future.

Love the location, love the house.
Large, clean comfortable room in quiet location convenient for Aviemore and Glenmore and the Cairngorms.

Breakfast was great, plentiful and tasty, with our hostess wrapping up flapjacks and cake for snacks during cycling. She was also very helpful about booking dinner reservations. Nothing was too much trouble.

We had the good fortune to be spolit here for 5 lovely nights in May 2102. Sheligh leaves no stone un-turned in order to completely make you feel at home but does it in a way that is almost invisible- everything is just tremendous, the perfect host! There are just so many little extras included in your stay that I encourage you to experience them yourself (I dont want to list them here as they are what makes your visit unique, and other guest houses may copy them...). The wonderful log fire, the comfy lounge, the wonderful views of the snow peaked mountains, the red squirrel that joins you for breakfast if you are lucky- it all adds up to a scrumptious break.
Thank you for sharing your guest house with us.

Room Tip: They are all wonderful

A wonderful guest house, located just outside Aviemore on the road to Coylumbridge and Loch Morlich. Very high quality decor, good size rooms, great breakfasts and super fiendly service. I spend half my working life travelling internationaly and staying in some very nice hotels but I would pick the Old Ministers House over most of these anytime. Shelia (sorry not correct Galeic spelling) is very freindly and helpful and a great host. Location is great for exploring Rothiemurcus estate (forest walks and mountainbiking) and also for the ski slopes. You may consider this high priced for a guest house but I would say excellent value for money for the standard of accomodation and service. David & Rosie from Lancashire.

Marvellous welcome with collection service at the train station. Delightful bubble bath and sherry from the pretty little decanter in the bedroom. Excellent evening meal and delicious quality wine for a most reasonable price. Exceedingly comfortable bed and sleep. A scrumptious breakfast followed by wonderful advice and help from the proprietor to plan what was a great day of fishing, walking, swinging through trees and sight seeing. And as if that wasn't enough Shelagh organised the sun as well. Wonderful place and a majestically beautiful area of the Highlands.

Room Tip: Our party took 3 rooms and all were excellent
