“Enjoyable ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014

Seen some of the negative reviews and just cannot reconcile them to this restaurant.
The service was very welcoming and personal, the food was nice (in the Frankie and Bennie American theme). We had the sharing platter for starter and maybe shouldn't as both the mains were huge. The burgers were cooked to perfection and soo tasty.
No room for desert so can't comment in them but the menu is really good value for money.

Had a great meal and drinks at Papa Rocks. The portions are very good - I had the extra spicy burger which comes with a free glass of milk as it is very spicy so beware.Very friendly service always helps.

“Make sure you're hungry!”

Huge portions. Tasty food. Good service. Not overly priced for the amount of food, but we wasted most of our main as we were full after sharing a starter! Kids loved it.

“Unhappy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

We came in for dinner on January second, we wanted to have one drink before ordering and they didn't like that as its a restaurant not a licensed bar, thats fine I can get over that. The place wasn't very busy so they gave us a drink while we looked over the menu. They rushed us to order and then are food came a little to quick for our liking, if we wanted fast food we would go to a fast food restaurant. I ordered the chicken nachos, the chicken itself was very good but seasoned with a brought in product no chefing required. The only thing the chef had to do was cheese and jalapeños to my surprise it took me about 20 minutes to take out the jalapeños as there was so many it wrecked the dish, there was an entire small bottle of jalapeños, I liked them but not that much. When we said something to the waitress she said "yah thats a lot". Also for some reason they poured sweet chill over it all making it very sweet, not what I was expecting. My boyfriend had ordered lamb, the lamb he said was great. However nothing else on the plate was, the rest of the dish was horrible. The kitchen threw a handful of dried rosemary leaves on the top as a garnish, it was not nice to put it mildly. My boyfriend was spitting out hard dried pieces of rosemary all night. Now the place was decorated in a fun american feel, perhaps they should have put a little more money in the staff. The front of house were rude and grumpy, and the kitchen staff must be from a chain were everything is prepared and brought in frozen and all they have to do is boil in a bag or heat it up. Restaurants that want to offer fresh food need to bring in fresh food chefs, not wanna be cooks from weatherspoons. The whole reason we went there was they have a massive Gluten free area on the menu, but when you actually look at it all they did was offer the same menu items without gluten, and then made it more money as its "Gluten free". Overall disappointed.

“Lovely food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Fab lunch. Had prawn sandwich with home made coleslaw huge portion and really tasty.

Chicken burger and Chips my hubby said were really good.

My children had the hotdog with chips they got a hair band and a little chocolate in their box. They also got a drink, great value. Because the girls didn't want the ice cream they were given a tube if smarties each. A nice touch and really friendly staff.

Thanks for a lovey visit.
