This visitor centre is set into a beautiful part of Abernethy Forest which has many lovely walking trails. Great information centre with volunteers on hand to tell you what's been happening with the resident osprey family and chicks during the breeding season(end of March to August). There are binoculars trained onto the nest itself so you don't need to have your own and a live webcam gives up to the minute info on anything thats happening around the nest. If you are lucky you may also get to see Capercaillie - they have an early morning watch in April so its worth getting out of bed to try and get a glimpse of this rare bird. Across the road from the visitor centre is beautiful Loch Mallachie and I would recommend driving to the car park nearby where you get a good view of the loch a nice walk and some beautiful views - great if you are into photography. The bird feeders at the Visitor Centre are also good for seeing red squirrels, woodpeckers and other birds. There are toilet facilties at the centre and its fully wheelchair accessible.
