“Great morning out with the dogs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2014

Just got back from a visit with my Thai friend. It was great to be able to see touch and walk amongst the dogs. Some great photos many dogs all shapes and sizes. Well worth the £8 fee.

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2014

We booked a few weeks in advance and Fiona was very helpful about who it would be suitable for in our family group ageing from 7 to 71! Arrived early and was greeted immediately by Fiona who chatted and explained they were still finishing off last tour but would only be 5-10 mins. Very interesting & informative tour from Alan, he has been to some amazing countries with his dogs & clearly loves ths sport and these amazing working dogs. After clear instructions & making us aware this was all part of the dogs training, we watched the dogs being made ready for the sled run. Once in the vehicle he chatted all the way around explaining about each of the dogs and their characteristics, what role their place was in the harness, how it all worked and even some local history. All really interesting and was lovely ride around snow covered forest tracks. My children both loved meeting the dogs at the end and they could have stayed all day but it was getting dark! There was no rush for us to leave, they saw the dogs being fed at the end of the run and genuinely dint want to leave! Would definitely recommend but do not expect 'fluffy' perfect kennel club style dogs, they are cleverly bred for their purpose and not for looks alone. Amazing afternoon for us all and one of the highlights of our pre- Christmas weekend in Aviemore.

“A Real working sled dog centre, not your typical tourist attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2014 via mobile

Book via phone at least a day ahead and bring cash only. As this is a real sledding Crabtree, be prepared to see a lot of dogs as well as their owners in their home environment, not in a museum-like setting. The tour was lovely with the feel of bring invited to friends' place to see how they live and what they love to do. You will see and hear the passion that the owners have for caring for their dogs (they appear very well loved) and for sledding.

About a 15-20 minute walk from car park. Bring comfy shoes and warm clothing as you will be outside most of the tour.

“I learnt how to take a dogs temperature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2014

Well worth a visit. We enjoyed feeding the blood soaked meals to the dogs and learnt loads about them - how to arrange them on the leads and how to take their temperature (several times). We had thought the sled ride would involve a sled and so were disappointed to discover it was a large quad vehicle. Apart from this, and the cost, experience was excellent. Would certainly recommend it to others.
