“Central location, good value for money.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2011

Stayed here for 1 night (at a discount rate) on a walking trip with friends. Hotel recently renovated, clean and modern. Room was small and basic, but clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good, and staff OK. Didn't dine in the evening so can't comment. Maybe better for a short stay than a base for longer.

After staying two nights at this hotel we were impressed by the cleanliness of the room and the en-suite bathroom. The staff in the hotel were extremely friendly and we couldn't fault their service. The food was superb and we liked the idea of the themed restaurant menu. The hotel's location is fairly central in Aviemore and has adequate parking facilities. We would definately recommend this hotel and will visit again.

The room we had was lovely it was a superior double. We stayed for two nights. Breakfast was terrible to the point we didn't bother the second day. Wonder if that's their intention as they clearly could not be bothered with breakfast. Food in general here is poor. Have eaten here before at night and a promising menu was badly let down by a chef who clearly couldn't cook what was on it. Housekeeping was poor too apart from making the bed no other sign anyone had been in the room. Staff are not looking after this place and in a year or so it will become evident enough for a possible refurbishment. Plenty other choices in aviemore for the same price. As much as I can't stand the big chains I would recommend them over this place. Very disappointing.

Stayed one night in the hotel at the end of a tour of the Highlands. The room was quite small and one of the beds had seen better days. The breakfast was fine and the staff helpful. We ate in the hotel in the evening and whilst the starters theme was a novelty it did work out expensive overall and we would not choose this again.

it was fairly good considering we paid £50 a night for a twin room with breakfast, but it wasn't as stunning as most of the reviews suggest. Little things like the shower being a dribble, the heating not always working, beds not being made properly, and the wifi often failing took the shine off a bit. However the staff were nice and it did the job. They even kindly agreed to make our breakfast half an hour early one morning so we didn't miss our train. The evening menu looked overpriced seen as everything is a starter, but the portions turned out to be bigger than expected so it's worth checking out. Plus you get 10% off if you're a guest. Location's pretty good - it's a 10-15 min walk from Aviemore train station and even closer to one of the bus stops for Cairngorm Mtn (tip: you can get the mountain bus from outside the police station; you don't have to go all the way to the train station area).

Stayed in this hotel for a weekend, in a superior double room.
Room itself was spacious and spotlessly clean.
Food in restaurant was outstanding.
Only down side was the lack of a hotel lounge in the evening, but knew this before booking - hotel was locked up by 2230 (we had keys to get in, obviously) - not a problem as there's plenty to do round about.

I must say after reading the reviews that this hotel had got on this site i was slightly dubious, however after staying here i would say there is a hell of negative people that write these reports. Extremely clean, nicely decorated modern and spacious rooms (i myself am a bit of a clean freak). The staff fell over themselves to help you, Frazier if you read this really they are such an asset to you, it is a long time i have been somewhere were all the staff are as good as they are here. Fantastic location.
We really could not have asked for anything more, well maybe a hook on the bathroom door...lol. Honestly if you read this do support this small business they will not let you down. Thankyou once again and we will see you soon!
