Slains Castle is a lovely place to visit.
I have been there at least 3 times in my young life and I really love it.
When approaching the castle it looks eerie, like a Hollywood setting for a vampire's castle.
It is a lonely and strange place, when walking about the castle, I always think of what it would have been like when it was lived in.
In the 18th century Dr Johnson visited Slains Castle with his scottish friend he'd met in London, and I always wonder if I have stepped foot in the room of which he had slept in.
It is a lovely castle even though a ruin, if I ever won the national lottery I'd build a house on the same part of land as Slains, I think Slains is and will remain to be my favourite place I go on a holiday, I love Slains Castle, and what a house it was in it's day.
