I used to really like this place. I love sushi, and it is difficult to find in Scotland. This used to be the best option in Glasgow. If a bit pricey. We usually have a noodle dish as well, but the meat here has always tasted a bit old. I had a meal here a few months ago that was disappointing. My husband tried a bento for the first time, it was full of cheap raggedy old veg and tired bits of sushi roll. The fish in my sushi was not fresh. And 2 out of 4 pieces of each maki were 90% rice. After this experience, I have not been so eager to return. Then, a few weeks ago, I ordered sushi to take away. It was terrible. Again not fresh. Again too much rice. And very, very sloppy. Nigiri was rubbery, and every roll was open and falling apart. I'm not usually too fussed about presentation, if the food is good. But this wasn't worth eating. I reluctantly decided not to return despite years of satisfaction. No sooner had I decided- then my husband was given a gift voucher for Nanakusa. We will return once more. But not excited. I expect this will be our last visit unless they've changed their chef. And their attitude.
