“basic but adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Chose this hotel because of the price and stayed for 2 nights. 10 - 15mins walk from Central Station along the river so convienient for town. Reception staff friendly. Room was basic, comfy and clean which is all you need. The shower was hot. Had 1 breakfast which was supposedly continental but had no eggs, cheeses (just cheese triangles) or meats. If you want to pay for toast and cereal its fine. Would use this hotel again.

budget hotel in a convenient location - clean & comfortable - although a couple more pillows would be appreciated - since changeover from ETAP prices have gone up so i didn't score it as well for value

The thing I loved was that this hotel had triple rooms! This means a lot when you have groups of girls, I was there with my student daughters..... it was great value for money and is in a good enough area. Cheap and cheerful.

We stayed in 2 rooms in this hotel for a night when attending the Michael McIntyre Show at the SECC this month and weren't sure what we had let ourselves in for...! However, our doubts were unfounded. It was all a bit strange at first, trying to find The Quay (the entrance to it was not recognised on our GPS) and the entrance was hidden by a smoking shelter and there was no Reception just a hall with laundry trolleys in it. It all became clear tho' from the signs Reception on 6th Floor! Check-in by 2 staff was smooth. No expense has been spared on trimmings/ornaments/fancy lights etc. The keycard is needed to work the lift. The rooms are different to any hotel room I have ever stayed in. No curtains, just a blind, no carpet. The WC is separate to the shower cabin located behind the door as you open it. The wash hand basin is on the wall next to the shower cabin. There are 2 small bars of soap, a TV on the wall in the corner above a small in-built desk and stool and, the piece de resistance, a bunk bed above the double bed with a ladder at the side!!! There is a touch pad in the 'head board' to operate several different lighting combinations - very high tech! There is a/c / heater in the ceiling.
But it was all very clean, tidy, and in very good order and the bed was comfortable. We all slept well. Cannot comment on the eat-all-you-can breakfast for £5+ because we ate at Frankie and Benny's across from the hotel.
