Description: Di Maggio’s Theatreland is located on West Nile Street, opposite the Royal Concert Hall and moments walk from several of Glasgow’s main theatres and cinemas. Like the other Di Maggio’s in Glasgow and beyond, it is very family-friendly, but its chic contemporary styling, expanses of glass and bustling atmosphere lend it a more adult tone. Located opposite Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall and a matter of moments walk from many of Glasgow’s main theatres and cinemas, Di Maggio’s Theatreland is a magnet for both audience members and performers, looking for a quick pre-theatre bite to eat or post-show wind down. Our Italian Pizzas are a speciality, with an authentic wood-fired pizza oven giving great results every time, and the full Di Maggio’s menu is on offer alongside great value lunch and pre-theatre menus.

“Busy on a Saturday night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Great staff, but I think the kitchen was a little overwhelmed by the volume of patrons. Ribs were very fatty, and pasta dishes spicier than we would have liked. But they were able to get our large group seated and fed in a hurry.

Congested restaurant. Mood Lighting. Good selection on the menu. Reasonably priced. Filling portions, enjoyable side salad with dish. Positive experience overall.

“worst dining experience in years”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

I dined here with my boyfriend last night and it was terrible. We arrived there about half 5 and were seated straight away, in what we thought was the worst table in the restaurant. The table was a tiny circle (maybe 2 feet in diameter), and we struggled to fit our plates on it. We were right next to the open plan kitchen so noise level was very loud with the sound of plates and pots and pans and all the staff chatting. We had asked for another table but as we hadn't booked this was all they could offer. All the tables in the restaurant were very close together which made it difficult to feel comfortable and have a nice dinner. It felt very cramped, and it was obvious that they had sacrificed customer comfort and dining experience to get more tables in. I ordered a cold water prawn dish for starters which I feel was to blame for my sickness later in the evening, causing us to cancel our plans. My boyfriend ordered a pizza which was very greasy.

All in all, would not recommend this place to my friends. I would in fact go out of my way to tell them not to go there.

“italian it aint”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

My wife and I had the choice of the whole of glasgow on a quiet sunday night and for some reason we choose this place. We thought it was Italian--by name only.Served by polish girl, asked for some garlic bread to nibble on whilst looking at menu--didn't arrive in 20 mins-- called polish waiter who explained
her english wasn't very good.Anyway I did 15 mins later get it along with my starter and the main course was hovering whilst we were eating both. The starters were totally forgettable and how any restaurant purporting to be even a bit italian could have served up the watery pasta that was described as spaghetti carbonara is beyond me.Maybe the theatre goers who use this place are in such a rush they don't have the same expectations but I won't be back.

Thank you for your review, David. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your recent visit to our Theatreland Restaurant. We encourage our customers to alert our staff whilst we also ensure our staff approach our customers to check they are enjoying their meal, and should there be any issues with their food, we can then replace or fix any problems that may have arisen. However without knowledge of any problems, unfortunately our staff are unable to do anything. Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
