Description: India Quay is a trendy, contemporary space amidst the hustle and bustle of Glasgow. A traditional Indian welcome awaits you at India Quay, where you will find a restaurant that triumphantly pairs traditional Indian cuisine with ‘urban chic’.Adjacent to the newly redeveloped Finnieston area, and only a short walking distance of the SECC and Clyde Auditorium, India Quay overlooks the banks of the River Clyde, providing awe-inspiring views of the city’s famous Finnieston Crane, ‘Squinty Bridge’ and new Hydro Arena in the distance.India Quay’s menu is made up of long-established Indian favourites, but we do have a few surprises up our sleeve. Order the delicious Lamb Desi or Cheese, Chilli, and Coriander Naan Bread to see what we mean. The restaurant’s stark black and white interior oozes with understated style, though dashes of flamboyance accentuate the space. It’s the little details that make India Quay’s individuality stand out above the rest.

“Indian Delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

We have been a number of times to this restuarant, in fact any time we go to the SECC we automatically reserve a table. The service is 1st class, the menu excellent, the surroundings very pleasant with the overall cost of meal quite acceptable.

“Just another Indian restaurant...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Was quite looking forward to this Indian meal, but left underwhelmed. It was OK, and not much else more to say. Have had better Indian meals elsewhere, and wouldn't rush back here.

“Better than O Quay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Group of six of us went for the buffet ahead of Michael McIntyre gig at the SECC because it is so close by. Need to prebook if something like that is on as the buffet is upstairs only and has limited tables. Waiting staff friendly but a bit slow at getting the drinks out. Might be better if they checked who was in a hurry to go to concerts etc.
Starters excellent with plenty popadums and accompaniaments. Pakora fresh and crispy, chicken wings very tasty.
Waitress came and took order for naan breads ( large and fluffy) but we were a bit confused about when to start on the main courses. Waiter needed prompting for second drinks order.
Food very nice with variety of chicken and lamb mains (garlic chilli chicken very hot. yummy!)
. Paneer in a tomato sauce veggie option nice. Only pilau rice no plain.
Nice puddings selection of gateaux, fruit salad and gulab jamin.
Overall high quality food, nice surroundings. If you are in a hurry, make that clear to the waiting staff.

“Pre Theatre very good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Our first visit to India Quay as part of a Pre Theatre offer. A modern restaurant, clean and spacious with friendly staff. Although restricted by our offer to two courses and tea/coffee there was plenty of choice. For starter we chose a platter of spicy tandoori chicken wings, onion bhajis, onion rings, mushroom and chicken pakora, and an indian style spring roll. All came freshly cooked and hot. Starts also came with a spicy chickpea sauce, a mint sauce and a creamy mushroom sauce - which sounds a little odd but all were nice and were good accompaniments to the starter. My husband had yoghurt & mint lamb and I had chicken tikka jaipuri for mains. Again the cooking was nicely spiced with quality lamb and chicken in it. These dishes were served with rice. We ordered naans which came at an extra cost but were worth it. However, the meal took longer than we expected and by the time we had to leave (for a performance at the SECC) we hadn't ordered tea/coffees. It is a great place for a pre concert meal but leave enough time to enjoy the excellent food. We will be back.
