Description: Following an eight month £5.7m refurbishment, The Corinthian Club reopened its doors in late August 2010.Scotland’s leading artisan craftsmen spent hundreds of man-hours painstakingly creating aspects of the building, including a mosaic floor made of more than half a million tiles, over a thousand hand moulded acanthus leaves, fitting hand carved panels and restoring ornate wooden detailing. The iconic 26’ Corinthian dome remains a focal point in the new Tellers Bar and Brasserie where designers have also uncovered a stairway, once the route to the cells of the High Court, which now leads to the relaxed, organically-styled Mash and Press Rooms.A new addition to the venue, The Corinthian Club now boasts the most stunning gaming facilities in the country.Other highlights include the glittering Boutique, offering everything from afternoon tea to evening cocktails and housing the venue’s high-end retail space for ladies to enjoy a spot of retail therapy in the luxurious comfort of the plush velvet and sparkling crystal interior. It’s the first time a Glasgow entertainment venue has incorporated a pop-up retail space into one of its bars and, true to style, The Corinthian Club’s range has already featured high-end clothing and accessories from Comme des Garçons, Agent Provocateur and Boudiche.Bootleg takes its inspiration from a 1920s American speakeasy and is proving a huge hit with gents. Serving the finest matured sprits from around the world, Bootleg is also home to a secret cocktail which, in homage to its speakeasy roots, is only available to those who know it exists. The bar itself is fashioned out of traditional bank safes and the floor is made from a 500,000 piece mosaic tiles which have been painstakingly hand-crafted to form the image of Queen Victoria as she appeared on old banknotes - in a nod to the building’s past life as the Union Bank of Scotland. The new Corinthian Club has revolutionised Glasgow’s meeting, eating, socialising and gaming scene, boasting 14 rooms spaced across 5 floors. Creating more than 200 jobs for the city, the unique venue is open 24 hours and is the only one of its kind in the UK to offer a range of bars, clubs, restaurant, meetings rooms as well as a stunning gaming room all under one roof.Preserving much of the 260 year old Grade A listed building, internationally renowned Glasgow design firm Graven Images was commissioned to work alongside Scotland’s leading artisans - creating a stunning fusion of traditional craftsmanship and cool modern design.

“Relaxing atmosphere for a long lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

Ambience / Décor - The brasserie is a large open space, with amazing detail on the very high ceiling, and excellent décor to make such considerable space feel welcoming and comfortable. The tables on the right hand side are a bit more spacious and private and however those on the left have very unique 'carriage' seats. It all combines to make for a very relaxing atmosphere.
Food - I had Goats Cheese mousse as a starter and Scallops with Black Pudding and Apple Sauce for my main. The presentation of both dishes was a work of art and both were extremely tasty with an excellent balance of flavours, although the scallops could have been a bit warmer. I also had a portion of hand cut chips which were amazing, especially when drowned in vinegar!!!
Service / Staff - The service was very efficient and all of our requests re timing of when we wanted our meals served were carried out without any hassle. The staff that looked after us were very helpful, friendly and efficient.
Don't Miss - The spectacular ceiling in the Brasserie makes this venue well worth a visit in its own right.
Avoid - Toilets are a bit of a journey down to the basement - also, watch out for the window to the pavement where pedestrians can see into the vanity area of the toilet! Bear in mind that the age limit at all times and all areas is 18.
Summary - Great place to go for a long lunch, we were there from 1pm to 5pm. Very relaxing atmosphere and no rush to move on. Added benefit of a having a few bars and a casino on site also. Definitely worth a visit.

“Afternoon Tea with Champagne”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

Afternoon tea with champagne for ten ladies! Loads of sandwiches and lovely selection of cakes, all beautifully presented.
My only complaint would be that the 'champagne' is more a splash at the bottom of the glass!! Service was excellent and friendly, the girl who served us was lovely and helpful. Great atmosphere in fantastic surroundings

“Stylish and good food to back it up!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2014

Was here with 3 friends for a birthday night out, service was very attentive and prompt. Great cocktails. Food was lovely too, everyone was happy. The only tiny complaint I would have is that my haddock was on the dry side, as were the mushy peas but the chips were divine. Great surroundings too. Go for the market menu - brilliant value.

“Champagne Afternoon Tea with old friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

My second champagne afternoon tea here in November! Lucky me!
This one exceeded expectations, it was fantastic, thank you. Everything was tip top...service, loads of food & individual pots of tea, this time and the usual delicious champagne.
We had a little booth where we could chat away without distraction which definitely suited the three of us. It is such a beautiful setting & vibrant atmosphere. Can't wait until the next time!

“Great food amazing location in The Brasserie”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

Had lunch here the steak and peppercorn sauce with hand cut chips was fabulous. The decor in the room is amazing and well restored to its former glory of the old Ship Bank of Glasgow. Lovely setting. Good priced meal. friendly staff. Afternoon teas served as well will try them next time I visit. My only downside was the Lemon meringue tart for dessert it tasted like a very poor quality frozen dessert. Not what I expected but it was just after New Year perhaps the chef had run out and had popped down to supermarket for one.
