After reading some of the reviews, I must say I was alittle apprehensive. I read reviews about the area being an unsafe area, unfriendly, bad decor etc but I must say whole-heartedly that it was fantastic value for money!
We paid 30pounds for a double bedroom. I mean it wasn't the ritz but it was alot better than many hostels I've ever been to. Very clean, comfy bed...all a room really needs to be in my opinion.
Bathroom was a tad tiny...expect a caravan-bathroom type senario, basically the toilet and everything else in the bathroom gets wet when you have a shower (nice strong shower though, not one of those dribbly ones...). For guys you are basically standing in the shower to use the toilet =D....but it was very clean/new and perfectly usable...
TV with standard free channels, basic coffee/tea making 'facility'. No breakfast. Bath towel provided (only one though..though I'm sure if we asked we'd get another one) and a bar of soap. Friendly staff.
I must admit we did stay during the summer period, when uni was out, so it was quiet. No football games, no party or drunk people roaming the streets.
If I were to pick a hole it the place, I would say the security gate to let the car in and out didn't work but the staff had forewarned us about it and were happy to open the gate for us.
I would definately stay there again. Close to central Glasgow (though we did have a car...alittle abit of a walk and would do the walk with a group during the night, just for general security reasons).
Hope this helps :)
