My fiancee and I stayed at the Amadeus Guest House for 6 nights and had a pleasant time. We stayed in a double ensuite. The room was very clean and furniture new. Shower and toilet were clean.

The continental buffett breakfast is good. They had deli meats, cheese, cereal, oatmeal, toast, croissants and scones.

The bed & breakfast is right off Great Western Road. The subway is right across the street. That takes you to the main City Centre, where we actually took the train from Queen Street Station to Edinburgh for a day trip.

Transportation is fairly easy to get to around the Amadeus Guest House.

The staff is very very friendly and helpful especially when we had questions. They were kind enough to give us an alarm clock so we could wake up for our early flight. They were also kind enough to fetch a cab for us in the morning, which was at a fixed price of 18.50 pounds.

Only one minor thing.. The bed did make quite the noise and the floors are a bit creaky. You can hear footsteps above you but overall I would recommend staying there than a hotel. I thought the price was good for a week stay, especially with the dollar being so weak.

I had a struggle to find anywhere in Glasgow’s West End that met my organisation’s budget (I work for a charity) and the Amadeus Guest House was the only place. I was slightly concerned as the price was so cheap. You do get what you pay for here. The rooms are basic with some nice soft furnishings, but a closer look reveals some pretty shoddy DIY. Breakfasts are a Continental style buffet, which was fine. If you like real coffee, avoid it, it’s the worst I’ve had for a long while.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay. Great value for money, friendly and very helpful. There was a really nice selection for breakfast ,not a cooked breakfast, but lovely fresh rolls with ham and cheeses, yogurt and fruit, croissants and pain aux chocolat. The Amadeus is in the trendy West End of Glasgow, close to the University and the Kelvingrove museum and 2 mins from the subway. Our room was cleaned every day. Would recommend this guest house, so much nicer than a corporate hotel.

  • Liked — the breakfast
  • Disliked — our room only had a shower and I prefer a bath

Stayed two nights in a single room (double bed) with ensuite shower/toilet. Room was fine, if a little poky. Bed was soft, sheets were clean. Breakfast was continental buffet which was well-stocked with a good selection of cereals, cold cuts, fruit, yoghurt, juice. Host was friendly and helpful.

The B&B is a few dozen metres from a busy main road with loads of pubs, cafes and eateries. Furthermore the Glasgow underground is 2 minute's walk from the B&B, thereby giving direct access to central Glasgow and all the west end.

On the negative side, the remote control to the in-room TV didn't appear to be working. Also there was no functioning wi-fi access. But this is not a big issue since Wi-Fi is EVERYWHERE in Glasgow. It takes 60 seconds to walk to the main road where almost all of the cafes have free wi-fi. I recommend the Mad Hatter Cafe - excellent soup and coffee!

In summary, a value for money and well-located B&B.

  • Liked — well located for facilities and transport
  • Disliked — nothing to dislike

Excellent. I had a 2 night stay there and everything was perfect. Very friendly staff and the Breakfast included was terrific.
The room given was big and the bath very clean.
THere was a hairdryer, tea-cocker etc,
Tube is close and there is just a 5 minute ride to the city centre.
Would go there again
