Very beautiful and clean guest house with excellent service and great value for money! For me and my partner location was superb, as we wanted something little out of center (nice and quite - wonderful, when you need good rest), but for some of you, who like to be close to everything, might be bit too far (more than 10minutes by taxi). The only two things, which we were not keen on were: shower with too low pressure (but nice hot water) and very weak light in the room.
Overall, I highly recommend you to stay in this lovely place.

The rooms and house are grand and the owners very friendly without being over the top. Good value. Try to get an en-suite room, but the shared facilities are good even if that's not your thing

The Alamo was a great choice for our stay in Glasgow. The staff was helpful, personable and made for a wonderful stay. The rooms were clean and beautiful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, warm, friendly spot to bed down. All the rooms also have DVD players and there is a rather eclectic library of movies available to watch.

I'd highly recommend the Alamo! Steve and Emma were just lovely- helpful and accommodating in every way. Steve sat down with a map and gave us all kind of suggestions of where to go and how to get around Glasgow. Our room had a DVD player and a flat-screen TV, and they have a collection of HUNDREDS of DVDs to choose from. The guest house itself is beautiful- an old restored building, decorated in a Victorian type of styling. They have done a wonderful job of renovating the place, and their hard work is evident.. After several B&B's that were very small, this one is much bigger- about a dozen rooms or so. Ours was not en suite, but it wasn't a problem at all- there were several shared bathrooms and showers to choose from, just steps away, and we never had to wait. The furnishings are stylish and classy, with everything very clean and kept up extremely well. Breakfast was very good- a buffet-style breakfast, with a lot to choose from. Both Steve and Emma were helpful in every way, and the location is great- on a quiet little street, right next to Kelvingrove Park, and just a few minutes walk from the university and all that the West End has to offer. Great place to stay!

The Alamo Guest House is a beautifully renovated home furnished with amazing antiques (admire the ceiling in the breakfast room). When we arrived (quite late) Steve and Emma were hosting an impromptu whiskey tasting for the guests. The service was amazing! We arrived in Glasgow without much agenda, Steve asked if we would mind some recommendations . . . we proceeded to sit on the stoop while he spent a great deal of time telling us the best places to eat, drink, and visit while in Glasgow. We fell in love with the West End, spent the day exploring his recommendation and never had to get in our car. Have some drinks at Oran Mor (an old church turned into a pub/nightclub) and try dinner at The Drawing Room (fantastic burgers and sticky toffee pudding, oh yeah, and they have John Smith's on tap). Breakfast includes yogurts, fruit, eggs, ham, croissants, and much more! Room #3 is on the lower/basement level, has adorable antiques. My only complaint was poor lighting in the bathroom which made it difficult to apply makeup. Would return again!
