I have recently come to Glasgow to work for six months. While I was trying to locate a flat to let during my assignment, I stayed at the Alamo Guest House for five days. This was my first time in Glasgow and was worried about anything and everything under the sun. However, upon my arrival to the Alamo Guest House, I was warmly greeted by the owner, Steve, and his kindness immediately erased any of my fears. Although I was very early and well before check in time, he let me in and fed me a delicious breakfast. Afterwards, he showed me to my room which had good lighting, was warm, and most importantly, very clean. The bathroom facilities were conveniently located down the hall and they were very clean as well. Needless to say after traveling through the night, I was quite tired and fell asleep quickly on the comfortable bed.
When I was able to enjoy breakfast, it has been absolutely wonderful. Steve was always quick to offer me fresh toast, coffee or tea. The scrambled eggs were always hot and fresh as were the fruits as well. When I was not able to enjoy breakfast and had to leave very early in the morning for work (before breakfast was served), he graciously left me some fruits and cereal.
Throughout my stay at the guest house, I was always very comfortable. Steve and his lovely wife were very knowledgeable and quick to offer help and advice in finding my way around. The restaurants that are nearby serve excellent food, especially the Drawing Room, which is conveniently located nearby. They serve an excellent chicken dish that practically had me licking the plate and considering asking for a second serving.
I was extremely pleased with the accommodation and hospitality that I have received from my stay at the Alamo Guest House. I would highly recommend it to everyone!!
