“A little bit different”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

Made an impromptu visit to Las Iguanas a few Saturdays ago at about 7pm. We just popped in on the off chance and didn't expect to get a table but were advised it was only a half hour wait so decided to have a drink at the bar whilst we waited. Lovely restaurant - nice and spacious but has a nice buzzy feel to it as well, with a very busy bar area.

After about 20 minutes we were shown to our table and we decided to sample a cocktail whilst we looked at the menu. Can't remember the name of the cocktail (a Mango something!) but it was lovely - very drinkable!

Ordered the taco sharing platter for starters which was lovely and then the steak fajitas for main. They were nice, but I'd say on a par with pretty much anywhere else you would get fajitas from. You also don't get some of the sides you get as standard elsewhere with fajitas with them and have to pay extra so ended up paying nearly £17 for fajitas which I felt was a bit pricey.

Shared the churros with the dulce de leche sauce and they were to die for!

The service was very good and we were well attended to without being hassled.

There's a lot on the menu that's not the standard fare you get at Mexican type restaurants and I will definitely be back to sample some of those (and the cocktails!) again in future.

“Excellent Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

My partner and I decided upon going to Las Iguanas in Glasgow on the first night of our Scotland 'tour', and both agreed that it was a great choice. The staff were attentive and very friendly and the food was exceptional. We'd definitely recommend the nachos to share as a starter if going as a couple. All in all it didn't cost us too much.

Would highly recommend and will definitely go back should we ever be in Glasgow again!

“Late lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014 via mobile

Had a late lunch here on saturday with my husband. the staff were very helpful and explained the menu as we were unsure of some of the dishes. The food when it came was just as the waitress described. The margarita's were excellent as good as we've had anywhere. We will definitely go back if we fancy something a bit different. Wort a visit.

“Great menu, great staff, tastes great!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2014 via mobile

14 of us went for dinner and usually, a large crowd proves to be a problem in a busy restaurant but not here! The service was great and there was always someone on hand to take another drinks order. We had the shared starters which were fantastic, especially the shredded steak! Fajitas for main we're extremely tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meal apart from the burger which had so much sauce the bun was doggy and falling to pieces. Will definitely be back and would recommend :)

“Great service, good food, high prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2014 via mobile

First time visit on a quiet weekday evening. Decor is excellent, seats are casual, fitting with the vibe of the place.

We were served by a lovely young lady who was enthusiastic, not overly intrusive and helpful. Many other waiting staff could learn a thing or two from her.

Menu is very different for Glasgow and we tried some different dishes including xinxim- lime chicken in a crayfish and peanut sauce. This was recommended and was excellent.

The second main was Guyanese pepperpot, the idea of this dish was correct thought the mutton had been well over cooked making it nearly inedible. Priced at £14.95 we were very disappointed in this dish.

Starter was smoked turkey empanadas, while tasting quite good the portion size was of 2 findus crispy pancakes for £5.50!

I would go definitely go back but not too soon
