I stayed for 6 nights at the Loft Apartments while attending a conference in Glasgow in August 2008. I had high expectations based on reviews and the price I paid for the accomodation.
My heart sank when my taxi drver pulled up at the address. Not a very good look from the street.
Once at reception I felt reassured. The apartment itself was well fitted out and was very comfortable. The kitchen was great except for the provision of just 2 teaspoons, 2 forks, 2 knives, 2 glasses, 2 cups, 2 plates etc. I find this petty and annoying and it results in the dishwasher being used excessively for small loads.
The view that I had been looking forward to was disappointing, it was of the wall of an adjacent building more or less, and as the apartment has huge windows which I would usually adore, it was a very big view of an adjacent wall!
On most nights, it was quiet in the surounding streets, saturday night however was very noisy. I felt very secure within the apartments though. The location is great for accessing the shops and the Wee Curry Shop, a few minutes walk away was fantastic.
Overall, a good stay, if the view had been better, I could have forgiven the meager cutlery/tableware allowance.
