Although it was clean, the hotel room was exceedingly small. This did not bother me a great deal; however, while I was searching the TV channels, I was shocked to discover that hard core porn (possibly illegal porn with underage-looking girls) was shown in-house and freely available to all guests. I've since reported it to Strathclyde Police.

From the pictures this hotel looks great but it's a different picture once you arrive?? The rooms look well appointed but ..... there was only one bedside table, the bed was a zip and link but wasn't pushed together causing a dip in the middle, only one pillow for each person, there was no mattress saver or pillow savers on the bed (have the inspectors been in to this place yet??), there were 3 hairs in the bath, no bath mat, the bath gel dispenser was broken, no toothbrush glass in the bathroom, the wash basin was positioned so that the water hit you in the crutch when you turned on the tap (!!!), very small towels, no English breakfast only continental, at the front of the hotel you will NEVER get to sleep as it is very, very noisy, and so it goes on.

A real disappointment!! It could be such a fantastic place. Shame!!!

We stayed 3 nights (Aug 9-12,) arriving by train at Central Station early in the morning. We walked out of the station and straight across to the Artto on Hope Street. The young and friendly staff were welcoming and happy to look after our bags until check-in time. Booking through Laterooms[""] was easy and reliable, and they had our room at the back, as requested. We've stayed in Glasgow before, and were waiting for the noisy nightime revellers, but the double glazed windows kept most noises out. Our room was modern and clean and a welcome surprise. The bathroom was up to the new Glasgow standard...fancy sink, shower, etc. All spotless. The shower was reliably hot and had great power!

The only confusion came when we couldn't get the lights to work, only to later discover that our room card/key slips into a slot by the door and activates the electricity. Great energy efficiency.

The only negative was the loss of wireless internet connection after the first day. But the Easy Internet on St Vincent Street was a happy alternative.

We'd come back! And thanks to all the staff for the great breakfasts in the lobby!

Stayed just the one night here whilst in transit via Glasgow Airport.
On arrival greeted by friendly chatty staff .
Checked in quickly and easily and headed up to my (single) room. T
he room itself was small but clean, newly updated with a decent bathroom.
Popped next-door for an excellent curry buffet.

However, my stay was ruined by the noise level in the front facing room looking out towards Glasgow central railway station. Even with the (double-glazed?) windows closed the traffic noise was deafening - I'm a pretty heavy sleeper who falls asleep, usually, without any trouble but the constant traffic and drunken revellers at about 3am ensured a sleepless night.

My message is nice hotel but ensure you get a room at the back !!
