“Great Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

My wife & i stayed here for the w/end. Booked it independently we didnt do breakfast so cant advise. The room was ok 3rd floor 302 Very quite never heard a sould and located beside lift. The Room was spacious but we felt the carpet was very Grubby and looked like it had old blood/or Blackcurrant juice all over it. There was free WIFI and if you take laptop you get a cable from Reception to use in your room. One major complaint which really wasnt the fault of the Hotel was that we had no hot water for showering as 1 of the 2 boilers recently installed kept cutting out. The bar area is wellmaintained and clean with a nice Tiger beer for sale. We eat out as we had quite a lot to do. Overall we would stay there again. Bus stop and taxi rank right out side hotel as well as Central Train Station.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back (Peaceful). Also there is a heated smoking area out the back

Have just returned from weekend away at this hotel and felt had to write a review....
On a positive note the hotel is in a fab location, literally over the road from Glasgow central station.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful...
Now the negatives!!!
The rooms are small and we kept banging leg off bed to get into bathroom.
Bathroom was very shabby, fixtures were hanging off walls, mirror had stains on it and generally looked unclean!
Room was above a bar so the noise was ridiculous till late on.
Reception is in the middle of the Aria bar so if u needed to speak to receptionist then had no chance if bar was full as couldn't hear yourself think..
Corridor we were on stank of cigarette smoke despite it being a non smoking hotel..
Ceilings in corridor looked like they were about to fall down...
I wouldn't normally write a review but felt needed to on this occasion as the hotel I thought was pricey for what we got. However if your not bothered bout where you stay then for location this is perfect.
We had read reviews on this hotel before going but stupidly thought the hotel would have rectified some of the previous complaints from other customers!!

If you value a nights sleep don't book this hotel. The noise from the bars on the street is incessant loud music people talking at full volume just below your window noise from traffic all night we didn't sleep a wink. Couple that with a cold room and an awful breakfast we don't usually complain but we wanted to prevent others wasting their money!

Relatively cheap option for a couple of nights in the centre of Glasgow.
Room and en suite clean but very small, no storage-just as well the ceiling was high.
Noisy lively bar-glad we weren't sleeping right above it!

Centrally located, particularly for the Arches.
The room I had was well appointed and surprisingly quiet, (it did not face onto Hope Street).
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Nice Bar on the ground floor beside reception. Only negative(not the Hotel or staffs fault) was another guest/guests who were a little worse for wear and were a bit noisy and abusive towards the staff on duty. However It was well handled by the staff.

Would stay again if attending the Arches.

Room Tip: Request a room away from Hope street.

Stayed two nights this week at the Artto. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location for later evening arrival by train. Only 2 mins from central station exit. After that not so good. I had asked for a quiet room but was put on the 1st floor facing Hope Street. The street never sleeps! Especially at 4am each morning when the bins and bottles are collected. Rooms and landings whilst modern decor look in need of a little attention. Amusing connection with in-house curry shop next door. Buffet food pretty good. And excellent Italian restuarant almost underneath. Well worth a try. Not sure I would rush back to the Artto.

Room Tip: Don't get a room facing the street

We recently stayed in the Artto Hotel on Hope St in Glasgow, it is easy to get to from Glasow Airport, if you the the Glasgow Shuttle, it takes you to the main train station, you are about a block away, easy walk from the station. Our room was ready when we checked in @ 0730, clean, comfortable beds, ensuite, restaurant and bar in lobby, the staff were sooo friendly and helped us finds trains, busses, what ever we needed, Bombay Blue is just next door, great food, good prices, it really felt like our own little home away from home.

Room Tip: It can be noisy on the lower floor from the bar area, recommend the higher floors.
