We always stay here when visiting Glasgow for Celtic matches. The hotel in Celtic Park side of the city centre which means you can walk there (aprox 20/30mins), but is right at heart of the city for all the bars, clubs cultural sites. From the aiport it costs aprox 10.00ukl in a taxi...or you can get a return ticket on the bus which drops you 5mins from the hotel for 6ukl. If you are in no hurry, the bus is the better option and very easy to use. If driving, the hotel is easy to get to from any direction. The hotel does not have its own car park, but there is an NCP on the other side of the road, and the hotel will stamp a car park ticket for you so you get a discounted rate.

The hotel itself.......nice hotel that has was just nearing completion of refurbishment. Smart reception, very nice bar and a nice breakfast/restaurant. All public areas are well kept well, with 2 lifts that you must use your secutity key to use. You must also use your key to gain entrance to the hotel after 12midmight...very good security.

The Rooms...smart and tidy....always clean. Nice shower. We have stayed here a number of times and the majority of the rooms are quiet...but rooms that are sited near fire doors can be impacted by the door noise.

The staff.....Always very friendly and helpfull. They will often let us check in early if the rooms are available..or lock up our bags if the hotel is busy. They are very knowledgeable of the area.

Breakfast/Restaurant....Never used the restaurant for dinner..but had breakfast once. It was nice and you could have as much as you liked, but I found it to be expensive..and we found a great Cafe called "guidos" about 5mins walk around the corner at the Gallowgate. There are some superb restaurants in Glasgow..and bars.....the hotel is nice...but better can be found and why would you want to stay in a hotel bar in such a nice city!

Overview.......A great hotel whether for business or pleasure. Clean, tidy, well positioned, reasonable rates..would stay and will stay there again.

We love Glasgow and its fabulous buildings, shops, restaurants and FREE museums and feel that a budget hotel this close to the centre that is clean, with pleasant and helpful staff and a decent breakfast can't be all bad. Yes it can be noisy at night but this is Glasgow. If you don't want noise then stay further out.

We just got back from a stay at the Premier Travel Inn George Square and were pleasantly surprised. I tend to stay in PTIs alot (for the good price) and I think this is best one I have stayed in.

When we arrived, it was 9 p.m. on a Friday evening and the bar was packed and noisy (the reception is at the edge of the bar). I wondered if we'd made a big mistake as I did want some sleep! The taxi driver had also told us it could be packed full of football fans (it was Scottish FA cup weekend) and hen/stag nights. However, we were given a room at the rear of the hotel on the fourth floor (407) which was quiet.

The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well on both nights. The room was nicely decorated with a clean bathroom. Powerful shower. I would guess the room had been refurbished recently as it seemed in good order. My only criticism is the lack of towel rail in the bathroom - nowhere to dry towels!! Other than that it was very good value for £59 per night.

Excellent location, especially for the price, right in the centre of Glasgow. I found Glasgow to be a very friendly city - I was there for a wedding so did not get much time to see it - I will definitely go back to "see the sights" and get to know the city better.

Breakfast was £7.50 each (kids go free if adults pay full price). I thought it was good value. The buffet is replenished regularly so food items are freshly cooked. I would recommend it.

Overall very good value for money in the centre of Glasgow. I would definitely stay there again.

I've been in Glasgow in April, 4 days, and stayed at Premier Travel Inn, George Square.

Airport: Arriving from London I was waiting to pick up my luggage at the belt. No sight of suitcase. The airport is small and there were only 2 belts visible. I asked a staff if there is another belt and told me NO. As a matter of fact there is another one in the next lobby. be careful.

Trip by taxi: easy but spicy: 22 pounds.

Check in was fast: sent in advance a fax with my requirements: higher floor, quiet room, not near the elevator, no pets, clean, no smoking. The room faced the back garden and you should go for that. Is a big difference compared with the front street noise.

The room had a large bed, and on the floor on each side were mattresses with sheets on them as I had an extended family with me. I wondered how they would clean the floors under such circumstances… I moved one sheet and with horror discovered the mattress had a red mold on it. Disgusting and unexpected. That changed my view completely.

Meals: there is a buffet type, very limited but tasty. The sausage was one of the best in years. Lunch also buffet type but very little choice. A la carte nobody ordered.

Location of the inn is good. In 15 min slow walk you are in the center. Interesting city but not amazing.

Staff is young but slightly inexperienced. One day before departure 3 guys, one by one, knocked to my door to tell me I have to leave. With no explanation ! After the third one, I became angry I had to go to the reception only to find they lost track of my last day that appeared unpaid. A long and unhappy debate, I went to my room to bring a copy of the fax, bla bla, they admitted the mistake but very little apology.

In brief: location good, price reasonable, food at the limit, staff heterogeneous and somehow dissatisfying. no internet in the lobby.

I recommend this inn if you do not know anything better in Glasgow, and I would not go there again.

Having had a pleasant experience at the County Hall PTI in Londontown, this seemed to be just the ticket.

It has several things going for it:
* less than 60 seconds by foot from George Square (and, by extension, from Queen Street station where the airport-city link bus pops you off)
* it is optimally located close to the bars, several interesting sights with proximity to bistros and markets
* as per usual, courteous, young chatty staff; clean crisp sheets

What I now expect from all PTIs is the crisp heavily starched sheets, generic liquid soap and bath gel dispensers, a top tuck sheet upon request and a self-edited wake up call on the small television set/clock face.

Immediately upon check-in and unpacking, I thought to take a shower to degrime my tired self only to discover a non-working shower. Within five (5) minutes of my call to polite Darren at check-in, David on duty was up in my room, confirmed the same and resited me into another room on the same floor (assisted with luggage) where I proceeded with the decontamination process without a hitch. I was delighted with the prompt attention to complaint.

But
* the noise level is extremely high which is what you should know to experience when you are so close to a main street (it is on George Street at Montrose). I think the garbage trucks rock by at 0213 night which was perhaps the exact moment I decided to relocate to the Marriott on Argyle Street which was, believe it or not, cheaper.
