I spent 5 nights at this hotel, using it as a base to do day trips out of Glasgow.
I arrived early in the morning from an overseas flight suffering from both jetlag and a cold. To my surprise I was immediately assigned a room and could have a rest before preparing myself for a day's sightseeing.
The room was large, very clean, and at the back of the hotel so it was very quiet. The bed was the most comfortable I ever slept on.
The location is absolutely the best in the city if you are using public transit; a short walking distance to Queen St. Train Station, Buchanan Bus Station, Buchanan Galleries (what a great Mall), and one block from the Tourist Office.

As a woman travelling alone I was of course concerned about safety. Premier Inns have a policy of ensuring safety of female travellers; for example, trying not to place them at the far end of a corridor.

This was my first trip to Glasgow, but if I ever go back I will certainly stay at this hotel and I am telling all my friends about it.

I stayed at this hotel in Oct 2007, for two nights, once getting off the bus the hotel was easy to find, clean, and value for money. I was pleasantly suprised, at this basic hotel. I was more than happy with the service I received. The room and bathroom wasa great size. The young girl on reception was very helpful and polite. The bar had a nice atmosphere. The swipe care mechanism meant only those who had it could enter the hotel, which made me feel secure. (Glasgow isn’t the safest city to say the least, as I have experienced!!) You’re literally a 5/10 minute walk away from the night life and town, but sheltered away from any mishap that happened on the street. This was the cheapest out of all the Premier Inns in Glasgow. I booked in advance which helped the price drop a fair amount. I would recommend this hotel, and my next visit to see friends at the University, I will definitely stay here.

  • Liked — The location, its great.
  • Disliked — It was great, no negatives!

We stopped at the Premier Inn just off George Square for one Saturday night. When we arrived at around 09.30 the lady on reception was very helpful and allocated us a room straight away, even though we arrived much earlier than scheduled. The room it's self was on the 5th floor, which was accessed quickly via the lifts. The room was traditional fare for a Premier Inn/Travelodge type hotel, but it was very clean and more than comfortable enough for one night. The hotel is about 150 yds away from the square, so is in quite a good location for exploring Glasgow city centre. The breakfast the following morning was a self service affair and costs £7.50 so not cheap. However the food was quite nice and you can eat as much as you want to fill up for the day ahead. We left our luggage in a secure lock up at the hotel, to save on lugging our stuff around prior to the trip to the airport. The person on reception gives you a ticket for your luggage so it's nice and secure. Whilst on the trip to the airport you can catch a bus from George Sq to the airport (Bus number 500) every 15 minutes or so 24 hours a day, you catch the bus from outside the tourist info centre. Overall I'd have no hesitation in recommending the Premier if you where stopping for a couple of nights.

I stayed here with my wife for a couple of nights last month. I thought the room was modern and clean, the location excellent and I enjoyed having a couple in the busy bar downstairs. The breakfasts for £7 a shot are well worthwhile as well.

For the money, you can't go wrong....

  • Liked — Great Value for money and location
  • Disliked — The downstairs bar is a little pricey

We are a young couple who stayed here for 2 nights for a break before christmas and were very impressed by what we got. We stayed in glasgow a while ago but out of town so we wanted somewhere city centre this time and didnt have a huge budget, and so we were glad to find this was reasonably inexpensive but didnt expect much, but it really delivered! The location was exellent for shopping and getting around, everything within walking distance. The room was fantastic, very big and the bed was unreal comfortable. The room was at the rear and we had a good view of an old graveyard, better than buildings right on top of you in the city centre. The staff were helpful when we needed to know something. Didnt try the breakfast because there were better deals nearby but the dinner in the restaurant was excellent and it was great just to walk downstairs to get it after shopping all day.

Overall very impressed and would definitely advise for a short shopping trip for those who would rather spend the extra money on clothes!!
