“Best Chinese food in the West End.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

This is our absolute staple favourite chinese food stop in the west end. It's really basic. There's no table service and it's not licensed. The lighting is harsh and the music is.... well terrible. But the food, oh the food, is AMAZING. Everything is delicious and they have really authentic menu items. There are the classic 'western' chinese dishes and then lots of more unusual surprises. The prices are comparable with a takeaway (which it does too). Crazy Wok is not the sort of place you would go on a date but it is the sort of place you could order lots of things with a group of friends and create your own atmosphere! Don't think it's just a fast food joint. It's so much more!

“Crazy about Crazy Wok”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

The thing about 'Chinese ' food in Glasgow is it rarely smacks of authenticity, which is why I tend to gravitate towards the Malaysian restaurants, which don't seem to use inordinate amounts of monosodium glutimate to enhance the flavour, and have a 'healthier' feel. Crazy Wok is very different. I noticed that it was owned by a company that owns a city centre restaurant I wouldn't go near (tried it once - eat all you like for a set price, dried -up food lying in hot trays under lamps, populated by drunks spilling out of the local pubs in Sauchiehall Street... 'nuff said!) but just the look of Crazy Wok's interior gave the impression of authenticity - walls covered in menus written in Chinese, food prepared in sight. Perhaps most important, lots of Chinese people were eating there - usually a good sign. The food is excellent, really well cooked, great variety, and at VERY reasonable prices. One or two of the staff seem a bit 'dour' (a smile and a bit of banter never go amiss) but that's only a niggle. They clearly work very hard, and always get your order right. They also throw in 'freebie' soft drinks depending upon the total price of your order. I wouldn't go past it now for a quick bite or takeout. Too many specialties to list, but the soup-based noodle dishes do have a healthy feel to them and you don't come away with that 'bagged up' feeling. Highly recommended when you're in Glasgow's West End. It's on Dumbarton Road, a stone's throw from Partick Cross, and the parking isn't too bad.
