“Excellent food Cosy and clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

7 of us visited the Victoria 6 weeks ago not knowing what to expect as it was our former boozer for a few decades. It was lovely to see it newly decorated while still retaining the old bar and gantry, so it was somewhat nostalgic. However nothing prepared us for the delicious food, which was a very pleasant surprise. Haddock and chips with mushy peas has got to be the best in Glasgow, really fresh fish with real chips, well worth the £8.95. In fact it is as good as it gets.
I made a return visit with another friend last week, and just had to have the haddock again, this time I managed to cram in a lovely cheesecake dessert, again it was excellent. Throw in a bottle of top quality wine (priced keenly) and we were in heaven. Top marks to the French chef, and staff could not have been nicer. Will definitely be haunting this establishment more often. Beer garden great for summer.

“Fun and Tasty!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

With Management's permission my Pipe Band played a few tunes tunes in the beer garden and in the pub attached to this restaurant. After that bit of fun, we settle down for a bite to eat, and we were pleasantly surprised! We didn't expect the quality of food we received. Originally we thought it would be just "pub grub" so it was a treat to find out that Victoria has a french chef.

Everyone enjoyed their food, be it the pasta carbonara, or the haggis (yuck), or salmon, hamburgers. Everybody had great things to say about their meal. And it was not outrageously priced either.

We wouldn't hesitate to return to this tiny treat of a bistro. Thanks Pauline, Ashley and staff for a great night!

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

We made a last minute reservation here on Saturday night. Amazing food, the chef took our orders personally. Beautiful wine and the hosts were so nice. Live music was also excellent. Definitely going back here again and highly recommended.

“Excellent lunch on a sunny day.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

My husband and I visited this Bistro yesterday lunchtime after having a great 3 days in Glasgow - coming mainly to See Bruce Springsteen the night before. The meal here before leaving Glasgow made our trip complete. My husband and I both opted for the Macaroni Cheese dish - never tasted anything quite so delicious before, beautifully presented with a small side salad and chips. Complemented the French Chef on his culinary skills, being greedy we also had desserts on the £8.95 2 course option. Never had iced profiteroles with warm chocolate sauce before, my husband had an individual small dish of apple crumble and ice cream. Excellent value, and we will be back in October with 8 of our English friends on a weekend trip to Glasgow. Lovely friendly place and staff. Hope it does well.

“Delicious lunch and very reasonable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Despite being unexpectedly inundated with a large group running 'The Race for Life' on Sunday, our little lunch for two got lovely attentive service from the owner, Pauline, and the waitress whom I think was her daughter.
Three large glasses of wine and two of their 'Flying Scotsman' express lunch (I had lovely macaroni cheese and D had a Croque Monsieur, both came with some of their home made soup) came to just over £16.
The dinner menu will definitely entice us back and is priced very keenly for the quality of fare.
Also must mention their lovely beer garden, enclosed at the rear of the property and shared with the Clutha next door... Total hidden gem!
