Description: BLOC+ is a forward-thinking and entirely independent restaurant, bar and live music venue. We are open from 11am until 3am and all live shows are free entry (barring a £2 charge on Fri/Sat from midnight until 2am to keep the troublemakers out). We are proud to have hosted some of the best musical acts from Scotland (including the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Biffy Clyro, Twin Atlantic and Admiral Fallow) as well as bands from across the globe as part of their European tours. BLOC+ is also an integral part of Glasgow's rich underground music scene, giving back to the loyal community that has made us so successful whenever we can.We also pride ourselves on a diverse and affordable menu of fresh, satisfying food and quality, well-priced drinks. Hope to see you here.

“What a racket!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Crackin' spot if you love to torture you're ear drums with overly loud rock music, not my scene. Good drinks and staff tho. I much prefer my secret wee spot round the corner at the Universal Bar, much cleaner and more relaxed. Would still recommend Bloc to anyone looking for live music from younger, scruffier artists.

Hi. Thanks for your kind words about the staff and venue. Sorry the live bands blew your head off. We do try to keep disruption to our early evening clientele to a minimum but, as you say, from 9pm onwards BLOC+ is very much about the live music. First rate touring artists from all over the world and all for free. But that does mean that sometimes it gets a bit noisy. If it helps in future we will happily furnish you with some of our free earplugs!! All the best.

“Great food and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

We have eaten here a few times, always usually for a late lunch on a Saturday or a holiday Monday. Our last visit was yesterday, where we stepped in out of the pouring rain in the late afternoon. We ordered a veggie burger and a steak burger which were great value at 2 for £9.95 deal, and both were really good. The thick cut chips were superb, and I could have done with another portion as they were so tasty. It was really quiet, so not much of an atmosphere but that's not their fault. We have been before where it's been much busier and the atmosphere is much better. The service was quick and friendly. they offer a great choice of drinks too and their menu is quite varied with lots of pizzas, burgers and as well as more refined meals. The only reason I've given a four star and not a five is the toilets, which are not great and could do with getting rid of the graffiti (though some might say it's quite entertaining to read). Overall very good and I'm sure we'll be back next time we are in that part of the city centre.
