Having stayed in jurys all over the place and have been very impessed with the level of service all round, it was only natural that we book it again! what can i say fab hotel!! staff very friendly but then thats the scotch way it seems! we were flyin in from belfast jumped on the bus and got off at central station we walked to jurys from here as we all only had a weekend bag. less than 5 min walk! being located on jamiaca st it wouldnt b the most desirable area of the city however we were 6 young girls up for a bit of fun and we found it. the bar staff were lovelly and even kept the bar open te everyone went to bed. ther was employees walkin the floors at nite as to avoid any roudiness even when we all did get a little .....err boistrous they knocked the door politely and were very civil about it fair play to them like! all in all a class hotel brill value for money! cleanliness was 10/10 and rooms very well supplied!!

  • Liked — decor and cleanliness, staff were fab as well
  • Disliked — the street its on
  • Tips/Secrets: — went venturing out at night, dont walk up the street from the hotel, order your taxi from the hotel entrance!

Had a pleasant overnight stay in early November. Check in was slickly handled by pleasant staff. Room was spotless and a good size for a City Centre hotel. Bathroom was immaculate with everything working and well maintained Jurys always do well on the washing facilities. Room was warm and, although next to the lift, surprisingly quiet. Breakfast was excellent, well cooked food and attentive staff, difficult to fault it. The hotel is located next to the Clyde and has a pleasant viewpoint although the immediate area is a bit down at heal and boisterous at night. Overall, for the price it is hard to beat Jurys for a short stay in Glasgow

Firstly, the location is excellent and the room was very, very quiet despite it being very busy.

I booked by phone and the booking clerk was excellent - very friendly and efficient, and when i arrived it was more of the same from the receptionists. I requested an iron when i checked in and had barely got in the room before it arrived. All staff were clearly well trained and some of the most pleasant I've come across.

The room itself was standard 3* fare but the towels were ridiculously small and cheap. Good air-con and nice, comfy bed and ample room.

Bar was lively but very efficient and reasonably priced.

Lovely quiet night's sleep followed by an absolutely terrible breakfast. Although I was one of the first in there the food was entirely cold, the eggs had clearly been on the hotplate for a very long time and when i asked for a fresh one was told I had to take the ones already there. The reply sounded well rehearsed! We all know that hotels must struggle when the hoardes descend for breakfast at the same time but there were barely 5 of us in there!

I had a bit of cereal and left it there...I do like my cooked breakfasts and felt ripped off by the offerings.

Overall, a pleasant experience until that ...I wouldn't stay at a jury's again until they sort the food out which is a shame as everything else was fine.

Dear Trip Advisor

Firstly, thank you for your review. I have passed on your kind comments to our Front Office staff and to our Housekeeping staff.

I am in the process of upgrading our towel size so hopefully this issue will be resolved in the near future.

The incidents you experienced at breakfast are unacceptable and I would like the opportunity to put things right. If you would like to contact me my email address is peter_stack@jurysdoyle.com.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Peter Stack

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights for a weekend getaway. We flew in from Dublin to Prestwick and the train connection from Prestwick was fantastic! We were only waiting 5 minutes for the train and it left us in Glasgow Central Station which is just 5 mins walk form the hotel. When we got to the hotel however we were told there were no rooms ready for us. (We arrived at the hotel around 10.30). We had to check in our bags and wait for a room for 2 hours. So after being up at 4.30 to catch our flight we had to trudge around the streets of Glasgow (in the rain I might add!) until our room was ready, which i was not too happy about! In fairness to the staff though, we had only paid for bed and breakfast for the 2 mornings, but they gave us a free breakfast on the morning we arrived so they slightly redeemed themselves about the whole waiting for the room ordeal.

The room was lovely and spacious, the bathroom was nearly the size of the bedroom and it was sparkling! I cannot fault the accomodation at all.

The hotel is only a 5 min walk from the city centre, Argyll Street, Buchanan Street etc and the shopping is fantastic! I found the Scottish people warm and welcoming and I am planning to return to this hotel for a longer stay early next year.

An excellent time had by all!!!!

  • Liked — The Bar and restaurant!
  • Disliked — Small amount of noise from railway station.
  • Tips/Secrets: — Eat in the Bar rather than restaurant, prices slightly cheaper, food just as good!

Jurys Inn Glasgow met my needs very well. It is on the basic side – perhaps a bit like a Travelodge, but was good value for the price paid – well under £70 B&B per night (single and double prices on my rate were the same).

For this price, the rooms were a reasonable size though a bit bare looking but clean and of a reasonable, modern appearance. I didn’t care too much for the ‘squeezy’ soap dispensers for the wash basin and shower, and the towels were on the small side (a woman would not be able to maintain her modesty!) and the hand towel was more the size of a flannel.

Despite its central and convenient location on a busy street on one side, and Glasgow Central Station on the other, it was remarkably quiet due to triple glazing. It also had air conditioning.

Breakfast was a DIY affair and a bit disappointing in terms of choice and quality (eg fried eggs that had obviously been sitting othere for ages, bacon that hadn’t been cooked properly). There was no table service, you went round a central island to collect what you wanted. There were machines to dispense orange juice and coffee, but staff made toast for you. Table clearance was efficient.

Overall, for the price, it was fine. The posted ‘rack rate’ of £160 was ridiculous, and I would have felt seriously ripped off had I had to pay that. At the price I paid, I would not hesitate at staying here again.
