We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights for a weekend getaway. We flew in from Dublin to Prestwick and the train connection from Prestwick was fantastic! We were only waiting 5 minutes for the train and it left us in Glasgow Central Station which is just 5 mins walk form the hotel. When we got to the hotel however we were told there were no rooms ready for us. (We arrived at the hotel around 10.30). We had to check in our bags and wait for a room for 2 hours. So after being up at 4.30 to catch our flight we had to trudge around the streets of Glasgow (in the rain I might add!) until our room was ready, which i was not too happy about! In fairness to the staff though, we had only paid for bed and breakfast for the 2 mornings, but they gave us a free breakfast on the morning we arrived so they slightly redeemed themselves about the whole waiting for the room ordeal.

The room was lovely and spacious, the bathroom was nearly the size of the bedroom and it was sparkling! I cannot fault the accomodation at all.

The hotel is only a 5 min walk from the city centre, Argyll Street, Buchanan Street etc and the shopping is fantastic! I found the Scottish people warm and welcoming and I am planning to return to this hotel for a longer stay early next year.

An excellent time had by all!!!!

  • Liked — The Bar and restaurant!
  • Disliked — Small amount of noise from railway station.
  • Tips/Secrets: — Eat in the Bar rather than restaurant, prices slightly cheaper, food just as good!

Jurys Inn Glasgow met my needs very well. It is on the basic side – perhaps a bit like a Travelodge, but was good value for the price paid – well under £70 B&B per night (single and double prices on my rate were the same).

For this price, the rooms were a reasonable size though a bit bare looking but clean and of a reasonable, modern appearance. I didn’t care too much for the ‘squeezy’ soap dispensers for the wash basin and shower, and the towels were on the small side (a woman would not be able to maintain her modesty!) and the hand towel was more the size of a flannel.

Despite its central and convenient location on a busy street on one side, and Glasgow Central Station on the other, it was remarkably quiet due to triple glazing. It also had air conditioning.

Breakfast was a DIY affair and a bit disappointing in terms of choice and quality (eg fried eggs that had obviously been sitting othere for ages, bacon that hadn’t been cooked properly). There was no table service, you went round a central island to collect what you wanted. There were machines to dispense orange juice and coffee, but staff made toast for you. Table clearance was efficient.

Overall, for the price, it was fine. The posted ‘rack rate’ of £160 was ridiculous, and I would have felt seriously ripped off had I had to pay that. At the price I paid, I would not hesitate at staying here again.

Spent a night here in September and was impressed by the standard of accomodation - good sized room with a large bathroom. The staff were helpful and the facilities were good. For a 3 star it was great - no real difference between this hotel and a Marriott. It's very central in Glasgow - in the evening we got a taxi to and from the West End which has good bars and restaurants. The hotel is well located for the station and shops.

Stayed here for two nights in September whilst attending a conference in Glasgow. The room on the 6th floor was well proportioned and very clean with a good ensuite bathroom.

Reception were very helpful and taxis ordered turned up on time. The hotel's location is very good for reaching the many stores on Argyle Street and walks alongside the river Clyde of an evening were very pleasant.

The menu for evening meals is quite restricted and on both nights even with the limited choice there were still dishes that were not available. The food we did have was well cooked but lacked any wow factor.

Breakfast however was diabolical and the sort you'd expect to pay under £1 for. It was barely luke warm, poor quality and relatively restricted choice. The one exception was the fresh fruit salad which was very good.

Fortunately my stay was paid for by my employer otherwise I'd had felt I wasn't getting value for money overall.

Used this hotel for the first time whilst in Glasgow on business last month.. I was very very impressed with the standard of the hotel.. first impression was great.. a fresh new looking hotel and friendly welcoming staff. The bedrooms were more than adequate and I had a great view of the river clyde, the restaurant was well priced and food presented very well and the bar was sylish but relaxing at the same time. Superb location for business in Glasgow and excellent value for money.. will be returning..
