Stayed at this hotel for a hen weekend and it was great. The staff were very helpful in every way getting restuarant reservations etc. The location is great for the city centre and the station. Check out isn't until 12.00 which is great for party people. The rooms were clean and spacious and quiet despite being next to the station. We didn't have breakfast so don't know about food! Only one thing to improve, needs room service!

The rooms are very small but clean and efficient. The soundproofing was excellent which was important given this hotel is party central on Saturday night.

Designed to give the business traveller the basics but nothing more - no trouser press, no tolietries in the room, only one hand towel and bath towel and a very comfortless, cold room. I wouldn't advise staying here for pleasure unless you just need somewhere to crash after a night on the town. The bar is reasonable but don't expect much in the way of service. Breakfast was buffet-style and perfectly OK - much better than the Holiday Inn Express two blocks away as you can have bacon & eggs etc. Cheap but not good value if you know what I mean. Car parking arrangements obscure - best to ask on check-in.

Stayed overnight here with 4 friends room only. Arrived early evening and were checked in promptly. We had two triple rooms. The rooms appeared clean although i bent down to pick some jewlery up off the floor to discover on closer inspection the carpet could have done with a good hoover.

The location was pretty spot on in that it was a short walk to rail/bus links and city centre shopping. We decided as we were pushed for time to grab a quick bite in the bar and the food was good for what we paid for it and the drink was about average for a hotel bar. Tea was a little bit noisey due to the large Hen party sat next to us adorned in pink fluffy head gear playing drinking games!! But to be fair they left to hit the town half way through our dinner.

The hotel booked us a taxi to take us on our night out which arrived promptly.

Luckily there was a late check out the next day 12pm and this i have to say was the best thing about the hotel not only for myself and friends but no doubt for the 'Hens' and 'Stags' who frequent the hotel.

Reception where happy and patient whilst we dutifully split our hotel bill and counted out the cash, split the bill on cards etc and they were more than happy to accomodate our luggae for a few hours whilst we went shopping before leaving for our train.

So in summary: suited our purpose, late check out was ideal, location was good but hotel was nothing more than average.
