Very near Central station (and no obvious problems with safety along the way), but can be noisy due to traffic on one side and trains on the other. Excellent breakfast with a good selection and the hot food kept hot all the way through. There were a couple of small things wrong in our room - a failed light bulb and the TV did not get all the stations it claimed - which suggest that rooms need checking a little more thoroughly. But generally a good place to stay if you are visiting Glasgow city centre. Popular with coach tours, but that didn't cause any problems to us.

Dear Trip Advisor,

Thank you for taking the time to write your review.

I'm a little dissapointed that we didn't spot the issue with the TV channels prior to your arrival as this is one of the checks that is carried out each day. As you mentioned, our triple glazing is very effective and cuts out any potential noise issues.

We would be delighted to welcome you back to the hotel, please don't hesitate to get in touch by email at paul_bray@jurysinns.com should you wish to return.

Sincerely

Paul Bray

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in Jury's in Glasgow. We were a groupof 7 ladies celebrating a birthday. WE were travelling from Dublin and new that we would arrive at the hotel at around 11:30 am. I got the manager's details off of trip advisor and emailed him informing him of this and also requesting three rooms close together.
He replied and said that he was sure that this would all be fine.
We arrived at the hotel at 11:15 and were in our rooms for 11:30. The rooms contained a double bed and a single. There was a kettle and teabags and coffee.
The room was spotless and so was the bathroom. The only minor complaint was that the shower could have had more oomph!
The location of this hotel is perfect it is a 5 minute walk from central station and two minutes from Argyll street. - Perfect. Unfortunately for our wallets there was also a matalan located across the road!
The breakfast in the mroning was a buffet style and was perfect.
The staff at the hotel were courteous and friendly at all times without exception. We also asked to store a birthday cake temporarily in the fridge and this again was obliged.

No complaints just keep doing what you are doing!

I stayed here with my mother for 4 nights and chose the hotel because it was close to the train station , as we were doing some day trips out of Glasgow. Had a few questions before I booked, so e-mailed manager Paul Bray (who had left his contact details on this site). He replied right away and was very helpful. The hotel is lovely and clean. The bedroom was big and clean and the bathroom was really big and spotless. We were on the 11th floor and had a lovely view over the river (which I had requested). You can hear noise from the train station at night in the room, but I was expecting this and a pair of ear plugs sorted that out. The reception staff are very nice. The breakfast is lovely, with lots of choice. This hotel is in a great location, very central to everything and I would definately stay here again.

I first reviewed this hotel back in 2005, and have stayed a few times since then, including this week. It is still excellent value for money - on this occasion I got a rate of £69. We were only staying one night after a gig at the O2 Academy, and the location is absolutely perfect for this. There appears to have been some upgrading done recently - it was a lovely huge bed with luxurious crisp white linen, which I don't remember from previous stays, and the TV is now a huge flat panel on the wall with all Freeview channels, including digital radio.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and a wee bit special.

If you are considering this hotel, don't let the negative reviews about the poor value breakfast put you off. All other aspects of the hotel are extremely good value, and the large Wetherspoon's pub (The Crystal Palace) that is practically next door to the hotel does "traditional" and "Scottish" full cooked breakfasts up until noon for the princely sum of £2.69.

Dear Trip Advisor,

Thank you for your great review.

I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel at some point in the near future.

On the breakfast, we have taken our guest feedback on board and have reduced our breakfast price from £10.95 to £7.50. We feel this reflects excellent value for money considering the full selection of fresh fruit, cereals and hot food that is available.
