I like The Jury's Inn. It's convenient, comfy and the staff are generally good. But. . . Slightly confused over their charge to room procedure. My room was paid for and on going for dinner and telling the girl to charge to my room she returned to say there was no credit on it. I had to leave my table and go to pre-authorise a card (I can live with that bit) but tell them how much I was going to spend. I didn't know. I hadn't eaten and wasn't sure how much I would want or drink.
I GET the pre-authorisation bit, I work in a hotel but I don't like pre-guessing what I will spend or the fact that none of this was even mentioned on check-in. Do they assume everyone will pay cash? All very odd especially as my room had been paid for and they already had a card number as guarantee from when I booked.
Listening as I perused the menu, another man was sent from the bar to reception to sort out charging to his room as I had been ~ he only wanted a pint.!
I appreciate hotels have to be careful, especially busier city centre ones but come on Jury's Inn, sort it out. I did not have this trouble on my other 2 visits.
Also sort out the clearing of a meal once taken. I sat for ages, in fact I asked at the bar for further service after my main course ~ BiG dislike.
To balance the scales on this review, I got the quiet room I asked for and the wi/fi was free.

Thank you for you review.
Please accept my apologies for the issues you faced with billing and service in the bar. We do ask for pre authorisation on arrival, my apologies the procedure was not explained to you when you checked in. I will be following up with the relevant departments to ensure that this situation does not occur again.
Jkitkat, should you decide to return to the hotel please feel free to contact me directly and I will ensure that you have a more enjoyable stay. - firstname.lastname@example.org
