“Not good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

We stayed at this hotel from Thursday 30th to Sunday 2nd June 2013.
This is an excellent hotel as far as comfort of the rooms go. We had a beautiful view over the river. The room had very large double twin beds with an excellent shower and bathroom.
Now comes the downside, the HOT breakfast is overcooked and to make matters worse, the heat lamps continue to "cook" the food. I could not eat the fried eggs, This is a shame because this is a very good hotel.
My advice, don't take the breakfast, which is optional and go next door to Wetherspoons wher you can have a 1st class breakfast for under £5

Room Tip: See above, have your breakfast next door at Wetherspoons for less than £5

The Jurys Inn has recently been renovated and everything is modern and clean and tasteful. We were able to walk to restaurants or eat at one of their restaurants or in the bar. The breakfast was very nice with eggs, fruit, yogurt, waffles etc...you won't go hungry. From here we walked down by the river and also into the walking mall area. To go further into the downtown area, we took a bus.
The beds were comfortable and it was extremely quiet in the room despite being at a major intersection. The staff at the front desk were very helpful at recommending places to see or eat.
The only issue is dropping off from a bus or cab...there is a no parking zone in front and you need to be quick.

Handy for the city centre , room was fine, standard sort of chain hotel room, breakfast good, although coffee not brilliant. Dinner was fine, main course portions rather small though - recommended if you get it at a reasonable rate.
Great views from my room

Room Tip: Facing the Clyde on an upper floor gives a good view

Stayed in Jury's in Glasgow and it is an excellent hotel. The room was large and in great condition. The bar is always a nice informal place to meet and have a good laugh and a yarn. The staff are always helpful and courteous.

Booked Two night weekend break with superbreak very good price. Bed and breakfast 2 days plus 1 evening meal. Arrived by car just after 6 Friday night parked up at muti story car park on opposite side of road to Hotel. Jurys Inn pays half the cost for the parking. Booking in took about 10 minutes four couples in front of us. Two staff on reception both locals very friendly. Booked into room 530 5th floor, 3 lifts all working. Room was nice size 1 double and 1 single bed very clean. Tea and coffee which was refilled each day, ran out of milk on the Saturday told staff in reception not a problem replacement milk arrived within ten minutes. Sink would not drain in bathroom Told reception on the way to restaurant it was fixed by the time we return to the room. We were on the train station side of the hotel the train noise did not bother me or my wife put we did drink rather a lot over the weekend. Food in the restaurant was good evening meal and breakfast. I will be going back to Glasgow hopefully soon and when I do I will Probably stay at the Jurys Inn.

Room Tip: Rooms on the riverside are quieter

Stayed recently on business for 2 nights. This is an expensive hotel for what you get. The car park is none existent and if you need to park your car you have to use a multi-storey up the road which is easy to see from outside the hotel if you look to your left and across the road......but, it's nigh on impossible to navigate to simply because Glasgow council need to employ people who make life difficult for the road user. It's called changing the one way system as often as you can so that not even 'updating sat navy's can keep up to date!
Back to the hotel. If you get a room at the back of the hotel you are facing the central station and although the windows are double glazed there is no mistaking trains leaving and arriving. It's not loud but it does mean that you can't open the windows unless you like the sound of trains! There is air conditioning in the rooms but the units switch off after midnight and in my case I was awoken by the quickly building heat. Having had my sleep disturbed by this I switched the air back on only for it to go off again of its own accord - and I really do mean off! I gave up after the third time and had to settle for open windows.
Room Internet is available at a charge ( why do UK hotels continue to rip us off with extortionate rates?). Everybody should continually complain about this and force them to stop charging. They make a fortune from us all and it just adds a bad taste to a sometimes good hotel stay.

I found the bathroom to be well stocked with nice soap/shower soap dispensers and the towels were fresh and soft. The bed sadly, I found uncomfortable and with the overnight heat made for a fairly uncomfortable night.

From May through to October Glasgow becomes a haven for tourists and the rates all go up. This may be the reason for my expensive stay. I normally stay at the holiday inn hotels but they are even more popular in Glasgow right now!

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I am disappointed that you did not thoroughly enjoy your stay. We do charge extra for Car parking and WIFI however this is in order to provide value for money in our Bedroom prices as not all guests require these extras therefore they can tailor their package in order to reduce overall cost. Please accept my apologies regarding the air conditioning, we will look into this and rectify. Regards, Barry Rowland General Manager
