I have to be honest and say that I never particularly look forward to my visits to Glasgow and in fact despite the extra travel I usually opt to stay in Edinburgh if I can, however on this occasion I was pleasantly surprised with the Jurys Inn Glasgow.

Finding the hotel is very easy as it's only a few hundred yards from Glasgow Central train station. The walk to the hotel is not too bad although the hotal is not too bad although the immediate area surrounding it is a bit ropey, but then Glasgow is very patchy like that.

Check in was very fast and my room was easy to locate.

The room was on the 6th floor which meant most of the street noise was inaudible. The room had 2 beds (a single and a double) both of which were very comfortable. The room had air con, a TV and hairdryer but no safe. The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom was all in order too.

The hotel is not remarkable but was alot better than I was expecting for such a low room rate.

Great location, very clean and well maintained. Just minutes from the shops. Well worth the money in fact i would have expected to pay more. The girls in the bar let it down a bit as they didnt seem very helpfull and gave out warm drinks in hot glasses, other than that a top hotel.

The hotel is in an ideal location for the centre of Glasgow, shops and the station.

The room was very clean and had all of the necessary facilities. My room was on the 5th floor and directly overlooked the station platform – it was infact so close I believe I could have shouted a conversation to the platforms! However absolutely no noise could be heard from the station.

Breakfast was a buffet style of hot and cold foot with plenty of choice available.

At night the location was probably not idea, although I didn’t have any issues.

I travel to Glasgow and have stayed at better hotels, this is for a number of reasons, but especially for the cost, however this may be because I have become too fussy!!!

It is worth a stay.

I am a disabled man, and i have to say that me and my wife have stayed here on several occasions, the access is 100%, the rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday, the breakfast was a great start to the day with plenty of variety, so I would highly recommend this hotel for wheelchair users.

Stayed at the hotel on business in April 08. Check in was quick and friendly, staff were courteous and helpfui as always in Scotland.

However I was disappointed with my room overall. Not enough towels, no flannel, bathroom extractor fan could not be turned off and was noisey. The air conditioning/heating system was extremely noisey and I ended up turing it off at 1am as I couldn't sleep with the noise. By 1.30am I was freezing and with only 1 blanket and a counterpane on the bed, I got up to put a jumper and trousers on over my pjs, before finally getting back to sleep about 2.30am. I was woken up by the trains leaving central station at 5.30am, so all in all not a good nights sleep.

Breakfast was a bit of a free for all. The buffet was badly laid out which led to congestion trying to get to the cereal and toast. However the quality of food on offer was good.

I expected more from Jury's Inn. There are better hotels in Glasgow, I wouldn't stay again.
