My husband and I recently stayed in the Jurys Inn in Glasgow (8/9 December) for my uncle's 50th birthday. The hotel is lovely and welcoming, staff are efficient, polite and on our arrival at 12pm were able to allocate us a room there nd then instead of us having to wait until 2pm. We had popped along hoping to leave our bags until check in but Garrie (who's been mentioned here a few times I notice!) was able to help and give us a room straight away - much appreciated.
Our room (418) was very large, the bed was very comfy and our view out into the street, while nothing exciting, was nice! The bathroom was equally large and had been fitted out for disabled use also. Our only complaint here was that the bathroom could do with a fresh coat of paint and the toilet and sick are rather too close together but both these problems are superficial and in no way spoiled our stay.
The one warning we would have for those booking through the hotel website - make sure you get what you booked. We had booked through the Jurys' site and on booking the site said our rate included breakfast, when I called to confirm the booking, the lady I spoke to said it included breakfast. However on check in I was advised that the £93 for the one night was for room only. Understandably there was nothing reception could do as I could easily have been trying it on to get a freebie, but I did feel a little annoyed about the price as while nice - there's no way I would have willingly paid £93 for just a room when there was a premier lodge round the corner at £50! Luckily, having read previous reviews, my husband and I were able to pop along to the Weatherspoons next door for a filling and well-priced breakfast!
Overall - the hotel location, cleanliness and friendly staff made the stay a nice experience - just one that hit the pocket a little harder than expected!
