I booked this hotel on the web due to its location primarily. We flew into Glasgow International Airport and got the Glasgow Flyer bus shuttle into the centre of the city, less than 10 mins walk from the hotel. Due to extremely early flights we arrived at the hotel at about 9 in the morning, I was hoping to just leave the bags and head away to do some sight seeing leaving check in until later in the day, however a very helpful young lady on reception asked if I could wait 15 mins as she could have a room prepared and check me in early. This was more than I had hoped for and I was quite impressed. The delay was because of some technical problem with the booking in system and while we were waiting we were offered complimentary breakfast. It’s such a pleasure to deal with helpful and service orientated staff.
We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and ate in the bar on 1 of those nights, the food was of good quality and reasonably priced. Decor of the lobby and bar was crisp and friendly, plenty of seating available. On a dining note, exit the hotel and turn left, walk for 5 mins to a very nice Chinese buffet restaurant with great food.
The room was a reasonable size and contained 1 double bed, remote tv, tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom had a full size bath with a good powerful shower.
The hotel is a couple of mins walk to Central Station, which makes it an ideal location to venture further outside Glasgow. We got a train to Edinburgh on one of the days for £9.30 each return. There was no noise from the trains due to the well insulated windows. About 10mins walk is George Square where the city bus tours run from, St Enoch Shopping centre and other well known spots are all within 15 mins walk.
All in all, great staff, nice hotel, good location. I would recommend it.

I'm from Glasgow, but needed to stay over one night before we could move into a new house.

It's strange staying in a hotel in your own city - the receptionists were suggesting things to do and places to go....

Very clean and well presented. We did not eat in as we thought we would treat ourselves to dinner elsewhere.

Fantastic views from the upper floors.

Booked through laterooms.com and got the room for £62.00. Excellent value!

The hotel was very nice and the staff were pleasant, allowing me to book in an hour and a half early. I found the rooms clean but basic. I paid £115 think the price was hiked up because the football was on. Found this quite expensive as i didnt even get breakfast with this, if i wanted breakfast i would have been another £10 each. The bar was quite pricey too, i was £13 for 4 vodka. I would definately go back to this hotel as the location is excellent, but only if i got it a bit cheaper.

We had a lovely stay here. The purpose was girlie shopping. There was a difficulty in that we had booked a twin room but due to the football
weekend bedlum, there wasn't one available. Garrie, who checked us in,
apologised and got us a double with sofabed. It was fine and we were moved to a better room the following day. Every time we walked in to reception he asked us how we were, how was the shopping going, were we happy? etc. The hotel is extremely close to the main shopping area.
Even nicer, on the final morning, before we left we were gasping for a coffee, but had eaten breakfast several hours earlier. Garrie just told us to go in to the restaurant area again where they were finishing off the breakfasts, and help ourselves. It is small things like this that make the difference. He also gave us advice on eating out, and transport arrangements. Even with it being a big football weekend (Italy vs Scotland) we were not kept awake at all. The rooms were very clean, we had nice views out of both rooms, and the breakfast buffet is just lovely. I will definitely stay here again.

  • Disliked — Sofabed on the first night

This is our 2nd stay this year at Jurys Glasgow, and yet again we have no complaints at all.
The check in and out was smooth and fast, our room 1006 was superb size and a great river view.
The service in the bar was friendly and speedy.
Will definitely be staying here again as it is a great base for shopping/bars/restaurants etc.

Thanks again to the GM for his hospitality.
