We had a lovely stay here. The purpose was girlie shopping. There was a difficulty in that we had booked a twin room but due to the football
weekend bedlum, there wasn't one available. Garrie, who checked us in,
apologised and got us a double with sofabed. It was fine and we were moved to a better room the following day. Every time we walked in to reception he asked us how we were, how was the shopping going, were we happy? etc. The hotel is extremely close to the main shopping area.
Even nicer, on the final morning, before we left we were gasping for a coffee, but had eaten breakfast several hours earlier. Garrie just told us to go in to the restaurant area again where they were finishing off the breakfasts, and help ourselves. It is small things like this that make the difference. He also gave us advice on eating out, and transport arrangements. Even with it being a big football weekend (Italy vs Scotland) we were not kept awake at all. The rooms were very clean, we had nice views out of both rooms, and the breakfast buffet is just lovely. I will definitely stay here again.

  • Liked — Helpfulness of staff and great breakfast.
  • Disliked — Sofabed on the first night

This is our 2nd stay this year at Jurys Glasgow, and yet again we have no complaints at all.
The check in and out was smooth and fast, our room 1006 was superb size and a great river view.
The service in the bar was friendly and speedy.
Will definitely be staying here again as it is a great base for shopping/bars/restaurants etc.

Thanks again to the GM for his hospitality.

Great value hotel.Great location.Very helpful staff. After a problem with the bathroom plumbing we were moved to room 407. Lovely room with superb view...but most importantly, with a big bed! Don't think we would have slept well in the standard double in our previously allocated room. Our friends happened to meet a member of staff (management I presume) in the lift, and after enquiring about bed size, were moved to 607!
Would definitely stay again if I could book an 07 room. Why don't all rooms have a decent sized bed? Do other Jury's Inn have similar large bedded rooms and how do I find out which one's they are? (eg am thinking of visiting Belfast)

Dear Trip Advisor

Great review. Thank you. In the Glasgow Inn we have 11 rooms with king sized beds. All Jurys Inn's will have a number of king size bedded rooms and they are just sold as normal rooms on a first come first served basis.

For Belfast why not email me and I will contact the Belfast GM and arrange a King sized room for you. My mail address is peter_stack@jurysinns.com.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Booked this hotel through laterooms for a night out. Asked for a smoking room but got a non smoking room as that was all they had available despite checking in at 3pm.

Room faced onto the hostel across the road which wasn't the most pleasant of views but I didn't book the room with the intention of looking out the window the whole night.

Check in staff are quite aloof, the gentleman told me he would pre authorise my card with a "wee bit extra" then appeared to pluck a figure out of thin air when i pressed to know how much they'd be reserving on my card.

Ok for the reduced rate and somewhere to crash in the city centre but not exactly luxury or the most user friendly of places, and certainly not recommended if you want a good view of glasgow

  • Liked — Good reductions available, city centre location
  • Disliked — View of the hostel, staff are very aloof

Dear Trip Advisor

Firstly thank you for the review. As you will see from our other reviews we have rooms with the best views of Glasgow and the Clyde River. It is true that not all our rooms have such great views but to compensate the hotel is very centrally located. With such a great location sometimes picturesque views are not always possible.

If you are back in Glasgow again drop me an email and I will arrange a room with an excellent view of Glasgow. My email address is peter_stack@jurysinns.com.

I just returned from Scotland, and had requested the infamous 1107, but was given another room upon arrival. I was emailed that 1107 was allocated to me, but during check in they said the room wasn't available! The other room I rec'd was similar. Overall, nice room and hotel and location. The breakfast was the standard fare, the staff ok, didn't 'use' them much though. There isn't much amenities to speak of - no minibar or shower caps etc.. so pack everything! Another thing is that they asked if I wanted my credit card charged in GBP or USD, not knowing they tacked on a massive conversion/commission to my bill once I said USD! Got 'ripped off' for almost 30 more USD!

  • Liked — Location and Room
  • Disliked — The bait and switch and additional USD charged

Dear Trip Advisor

Firstly thank you for the review and for still giving the hotel 4 out of five despite not getting the room requested.

I am not sure why your room was reallocated to 907 as 1107 was allocated for an early arrival. I will investigate it here to find out.

Regarding the commission charge I am not sure why it is so high? Again our Accounts team will have a look at it and if it is incorrect or higher than normal commission charges I will arrange a refund back on to your credit card.

Once again thank you for the review and if I can ever be of further assistance please do not hesitate to email me at peter_stack@jurysinns.com.

Sincerely

Peter Stack
