Stayed Sunday to Friday in a twin room on a business trip.
Travel is incredibly easy, literally a minute and a half walk from the Glasgow Central train station and opposite a multi storey car park (cheap too for city centre prices). The city centre shops are quite literally on the door step of the hotel
Arrival
On arriving you are greeted with a long reception with a bar to the left and a restaurant and breakfast area to the right. The reception staff was helpful, smiley and fast.
Room
The room overlooked the train station platforms in the immediate foreground but overlooked the river of the city providing excellent views. The triple glazing was incredible, the outside noise even the noise of the trains just disappeared when they were shut.
Our room had disabled features in the bathroom which meant people with accessibilities could easily use this hotel, but would probably have to request it in advance.
The room had air conditioning, a TV (with scart enabled for use with DVD/Games consoles, a hair driving and multi voltage shaver adapters. One thing to note though, there was no iron in the room. The bed was fitted with sheets in 3 over layers (not a duvet). The air conditioning worked well to ensure the room was comfortable. I did find the pillows slightly uncomfortable because they were a little small.
Food
There is a choice of places to eat in the hotel, the bar, the restaurant (two menu's available). I did not sample the bar menu, however my colleagues did and said the portions were big and was rather nice. I chose to eat in the restaurant the 5 nights I was there and the service was extremely quick and accommodating. The supervisor of the restaurant was extremely pleasant and always made a point of coming over to talk to you, make you feel welcome and valued. (Good luck with university by the way)
The food itself was always delicious, all of my colleagues and myself ate well every night, and we never had reason to complain about anything. The lamb shank was a personal favourite. One thing to note however was the Soufflé is on the menu but not available anymore as not enough people order it apparently.
The desserts are delicious, whilst not that much choice on the desserts though.
Overall experience
The jurys inn certainly made my stay very enjoyable, they were well organized, friendly and do everything they can to please their customers. I would recommend this hotel to people looking to visit Glasgow for any reason. A very pleasant experience!
