This hotel is just around the corner from the Central Train Station. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We had a room on the 11th floor (1106 I think) and it was spotlessly clean, a decent size, and with fantastic views. There was a pull across screen inside the window as well so that you could block out the outside noise during the night. Someone in another review mentioned a noisy bathroom fan, and this was no problem for us, as it seemed to go off a few minutes after you turned off the light. If you book in advance online and get a good rate for this hotel, I don't think it's worth looking elsewhere - really great value. The bar food during the day wasn't great, but the restaurant would be better and the hotel is so central you can easily go out if you like.
We also had an evening time meeting in the conference floor, and the staff were again very efficient and helpful. It is good for this type of thing, because there are a few meeting rooms, but also a nice break-out area - unfortunately there is no business centre etc. where you can print documents, but the staff at reception were really helpful and did this for us free of charge. You can also get Wi-Fi in your room for a tenner for 24 hours which is great - and because I worked in the room a bit, I met the cleaning staff who were very friendly also.

We arrived at this hotel to be allocated a smoking room after requesting a non smoking room. When we explained that this was unacceptable they were very slow in coming forward with a solution. We consequently spent the first night in a disgusting smokey smelling room and had to move the next morning to another. Found this
quite strange as right next to the lift and elsewhere there is non smoking signs for the hotel and signs stating that they are an environmently friendly hotel.

Breakfast was really uninspiring. Scrambled eggs which had been stewing forever and only fried eggs. The tomatoes were also barely warm and uncooked. One guest asked for an omelet and was told they don't do them. I asked to have my gluten free bread toasted and it appeared I put staff out both mornings when requesting this. Also wasn't impressed finding dirty tea bags in with the clean ones as no receptacle was provided for the dirty ones. We had to sit on the left side one morning as the right side was full only to have the area roped off to prevent others coming in and felt that we were being watched until we left. Others tried also to get around the rope only to be told to find space on the crowded side.

The parking for this hotel is a nightmare for any tourist driving to Glasgow to find. We finally found it only then to get lost getting to and from the hotel through the confusing entry and exits to the car park. The hotel does partly validate this though.

We disliked the area that the hotel was in. Seemed a bit on the dodgy
side early morning and late at night. Also had a room both times over
the road from the Youth hostel, so consequently couldn't leave the curtains open as they were waving at us! Seriously thought of going over and joining them as they seemed to be having fun and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. With the curtains shut the rooms were quite poorly lit.

Overall we certainly would not stay at this hotel again. We thought we would treat ourselves after spending UN$340 for two nights but had
better service and certainly better food in B&B's that we stayed in.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights but unfortunately did not enjoy the experience. The good points were that room was lovely and clean and the bathroom was spotless. The problem was the extractor fan in the bathroom. The noise it made during the night kept us awake. There were also loud banging noises which were only resolved by flushing the toilet. We eventually managed to grab a couple of hours sleep between 6am and 8am but were then awoken by the chambermaids shouting to each other along our corridor. We did bring the night receptionist up to our room on the second night but there was nothing he could do to prevent the noise. I am sorry to write this bad report as apart from the noise I liked this hotel.

Wow, Room 1107 is all that is promised (and more). The view from the room is amazing, both day and nightime.
The personal service from the moment we booked to when we left was absolutely excellent. Thanks to Peter and also Paul who personally made us feel very welcome on arrival. We felt like VIP's!
We were breaking our journey from holiday in Skye home to Liverpool and what could have been a depressing last night of holidays was instead made into a great memory of Glasgow. We'll definately come back and stay longer next time.
